The structural drawings include a "Deferred Submittals"section in the General Structural <br /> Notes on Sheet S00.01. The section appears to list work that is not included in the <br /> project, including but not limited to: post-tensioned concrete, pre-fabricated wood and <br /> steel trusses and joists, and stair systems. The list should be revised to remove work <br /> that is not in the project scope. Section 12/S40.02 indicates that the <br /> excavation for the pit will be below and potentially undermine the existing wall footing. <br /> The following comment should be addressed: <br /> a. Underpinning of the existing wall should be provided. Documentation substantiating <br /> the underpinning design should be submitted for review. See IBC Sections 1803.5.7 <br /> and 1804.2. <br /> b. Movement monitoring of the existing wall should be performed. The requirement <br /> should be specified in the"Structural Observation"section of the General Structural <br /> Notes on Sheet S00.01. See IBC Sections 1803.5.7 and 1804.1. <br /> ANSWER: <br /> a, The wall in question is a retaining wall for the ramp, not a bearing wall. <br /> Please see detail 11/550.02 for the order of construction clarification <br /> for the elevator pit. <br /> b. As noted above, the wall in question is not a bearing wall, The order of <br /> construction should mitigate the potential movement;therefore, no <br /> movement monitoring is required. <br /> 5.
