CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS
' 3) Fusing machine model and size.
4) Operator identification.
5) Job identification number.
6) Weld number.
7) Fusion, heating, and drag pressure settings.
8) Heater plate temperature.
9) Time stamp showing when weld was performed.
10)Heating and curing duration.
e. Certification verifying grout has filled annular space.
' f. Grout density test results.
' 8-31.3(2) Existing Site/River Conditions
The existing outfall discharges into the Snohomish river and is affected by both the river flows
and tidal influence from Puget Sound. The following are resources available to the contractor to
determine river flows and elevations that will be critical in planning the work.
River level — https://snohomish.onerain.com/
River flow— https://waterwatch.usqs.qov/index.php?id=flood-gmap
' Tide level -https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/noaatidepredictions.html?id=9447659&legacy=l
8-31.3(3) Examination
a. Physically measure and CCTV inspect existing outfall pipe to verify rehabilitation specified
herein is appropriate.
b. Clean existing outfall pipe prior to sliplining.
c. At a minimum, remove debris and settled material in existing pipe.
d. Determine size and roundness of existing host pipe by pulling a mandrel, of at least the
outside diameter of pipe to be inserted, through host pipe prior to insertion attempt or
' other approved method.
a. A 10-foot-long section of liner pipe may be used in place of mandrel.
b. If there are offset joints, sags, depressions or slight bends in line, pull a full length
' of liner pipe through line to verify planned diameter and length will fit.
' 8-31.3(4) Butt Fusion Welding Requirements
a. Perform butt-fused joining in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and with
applicable specifications of ASTM F2620.
' b. Fusion joining shall be performed by trained personnel with equipment designed for fusion
of thermoplastic pipe.
c. If butt-fused pipe is used, monitor and record fusing information for each joint.
d. During fusion, pipes shall be given adequate support on rollers to allow free movement.
e. Joints between pipe sections shall be smooth on the inside and internal projection beads
shall not be greater than 3/16 inch. During fusing process, remove internal bead with tool
' specifically designed for that purpose.
f. Completed joints shall be watertight at rated pressure for pipe and have strength
characteristics equal to or greater than pipe itself.
1 g. Improperly made or damaged joints shall be repaired or replaced as approved by
Engineer.
h. Upon request, provide Engineer samples of butt-fused joints for testing.
' SEI to SRI Intertie,SRO8 Rehab Division 8-MISC CONSTRUCTION WO No.-UP3714
SP-162
