1 <br /> CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> Trench excavation; hauling and disposing of surplus material; furnishing, stockpiling, hauling and <br /> placing and compacting suitable native backfill; pressure testing and inspecting pipe; concrete <br /> removal and penetration into SRO8 outfall structure, connecting pipe to existing structures or other <br /> pipes; protecting and maintaining existing utilities.All costs associated with jointing dissimilar types <br /> of sewer pipe, fittings or valves with a coupling or adapter shall be included in this bid item. <br /> Furnishing, hauling and placing of crushed surface base course for pipe zone bedding shall be paid <br /> under"Crushed Surfacing Base Course". Furnishing, hauling and placing of import trench backfill <br /> (Gravel Borrow) shall be paid under"Gravel Borrow". <br /> The City will operate existing valves on the sewer system to enable the existing (pressurized) 36- <br /> inch diameter sewer pipe to be isolated, depressurized and drained. The contractor will provide all <br /> equipment and forces necessary to drain sewage from the existing pipe prior to installing the cut- <br /> in tee. <br /> The Engineer has identified 6 pothole locations on the plans that are required and the costs for <br /> those potholes shall be considered as incidental to the work defined in this bid item. Additional <br /> potholes, if approved by the City, will be paid by Force Account. <br /> Bid Item 13: Sewer Saddle Manhole on SRO8 Pipe <br /> Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS) , <br /> The Lump Sum price for this manhole structure shall be full compensation for all labor, <br /> material, tools and equipment necessary to satisfactorily complete the work as defined in <br /> these Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to: <br /> Furnishing, hauling, and assembling in place the completed installation including a <br /> reinforced concrete cast-in-place base, pre-cast concrete manhole sections, frames and <br /> covers, special connection to the existing pipe, placement of water stops, joint sealants <br /> and gaskets, and fittings and fasteners to resist joint separation due to uplift thrust. <br /> Excavation; hauling and disposing of surplus or unsuitable material; dewatering; sewer <br /> flow bypassing; furnishing and installing couplings; grouting, furnishing and installing <br /> steps or ladder; placing and compacting native backfill; furnishing, placing, and ' <br /> compacting subgrade material. All costs for over-excavation, removal, haul, and disposal <br /> of unsuitable subgrade material below the pipe zone or structure subgrade and <br /> placement of foundation material is in a different bid item. ' <br /> Measurement will be based on the percentage of the work defined in this bid item that is completed <br /> at the time of measurement. <br /> Bid Item 14: Hinged Manway in SRO8 Structure <br /> Measurement and Payment: Lump Sum (LS) , <br /> The Lump Sum price for this work shall be full compensation for all labor, material, tools <br /> and equipment necessary to satisfactorily complete the work as defined in these Contract <br /> Documents and includes, but is not limited to: <br /> Removing and disposing of the existing steel plate cover and anchor bolts and preparing <br /> existing concrete surfaces to accept the new access hatch assembly as shown on the ' <br /> plans.
