LI <br />0 <br />Accessibility: <br />3. The project involves Level 2 Alterations to the building per IEBC Chapter 8. Accessibility <br />improvements per IEBC Section 705.2 should be included in the project. Potentially inaccessible <br />elements include, but are not limited to, the second floor bathrooms, stairs, ramps including handrails, <br />entryway doors, drinking fountains, and parking including striping and signage. Where the building is <br />made to be less than fully -accessible per one of the exceptions, documentation substantiating the <br />limited accessibility improvements should be submitted for review. Where Exception 1 is used, the <br />documentation should itemize the improvements and estimated cost of work associated with each <br />item. See IEBC Section 806.1. <br />The following are accessibility improvements part of this project scope of work as discussed <br />on our building walk-thru with Tony Lee and Ruben Sanchez on 7-24-19: <br />I ) Adding Toilet Room #112 <br />2) Remodeling existing Toilet Room #111 <br />3) Replacing non -compliant knob door hardware on existing doors <br />4) Demolition of existing security door and wall enclosure located on the stair landing <br />6) Adding new handrails at the stairway <br />6) Demolition of an existing doorway that is not accessible <br />7) First Floor area is to receive self -leveling concrete underlayment to level uneven floor <br />area — See Demo Plan Sheet ADIA for area. <br />4. Restrooms 111 and 112 shown on Sheets A1.1 and A7.0 are identified as accessible. See IBC <br />Section 1102.1, and references below to ICC Al 17.1-09 unless noted otherwise. Thefollowing <br />comments should be addressed: <br />a. Provide additional minimum dimensions for the grab bars per Sections 604.5.1 and 604.5.2, and <br />Figures 604.5.1 and 604.5.2. <br />See revised details and Keynotes 7.8, 7.9 and 7.10 that identify grab bar sizes on Sheet <br />A7.0. <br />b. I Provide water closet seat height dimension per Section 604.4. <br />See added water closet set height on Sheet A7.0 <br />c. Locate the water closet flush control on the open side per Section 604.6. <br />See added note on Sheet A7.0. <br />d.
