Yes Project No. Permit No.
At the client's request, ESNW Rep was on site to observe remedial excavation stability and backfill activity, collect a proctor
sample of the cement treated native backfill and transport it to the ESNW soil laboratory for analysis.
Remedial Excavation Backfill & Proctor Collection
While on site Rep observed the contractor finished hanging miradrain and stego wrap covering the lower third of the shoring
wall per the approved post -excavation design. Rep observed the contractor pour a 3' deep 2' wide lift of CDF into a ditch up
against the shoring wall. After pouring the CDF Rep observed the contractor place a rubber moisture -stop barrier strip down
the center of the CDF per the approved post -excavation design. Rep observed the contractor placed a 12" lift of cement
treated backfill over the floor of the excavation and compact it with a sheep's foot style single drum roller and a hoe pack. Rep
collected a proctor sample of the cement treated native soil and transported it to the ESNW soil laboratory for analysis. Rep
will return to test compaction of this cement treated backfill. Rep observed the remedial excavation was stable in its current
configuration and condition. It is recommended that Rep be notified immediately if any changes in the slope conditions are
observed. It is the responsibility of the contractor to perform all necessary safety measures in accordance with state and
federal regulations. ESNW rep will return daily to observe the condition of the temporarily over -steepened shoring excavation.
ESNW Rep will return when requested.
Emmett Hartley, G.I.T.
ESNW Field Tech
(206) 376-4906
