NA / AEI
GROUP
STRUCTURAL
Scope Assumptions:
1. Design will include two free-standing canopies. These will serve a fuel tank at Location 1 and fuel tank at Location
2. Each canopy is expected to be approximately 400 SF, or less, in order to cover the equipment and access space
around the equipment.
2. Design will also include concrete foundations pads for each equipment location described above.
3. Canopy framing (materials, beam spacing, column spacing) and pad concepts will be the same at the two locations.
A single set of details and a single specification package is expected to cover all three locations.
4. Minor structures (bollards, stanchions, pad-supported posts) may be required for the protection of the equipment
or for the support of control panels at each location.
5. Geotechnical requirements, including piles, that applied to the previous building concept are expected to apply
to the new canopies and foundation pads. Verification will be provided by the City of Everett of geotechnical
conditions at the new locations.
6. Building revisions at Location 1 are expected to consist of a roughly 200 SF, CMU-framed addition with a steel
beam and metal deck roof structure. The addition will infill the re-entrant corner of the existing building,
resulting in a rectangular final footprint. A double-wall is expected along the two side adjoining the existing
building, to provide lateral support. The buildings are expected to be connected, with the addition seismically
buttressing the existing building. Upgrade of the existing building is not expected, based on the buttressing
from the addition, although added walls and lintel beams may be required at some locations,to offset wall lost
at the new louver openings. If upgrades are required to the existing building, beyond those required at the
louvers, these will be provided as an additional service.
7. Equipment skids, sleepers, or other equipment base structures will be provided by the equipment supplier and are
outside the scope of this proposal.
8. Support of conduits, piping, or equipment from the canopies, if required, are not included.
9. Structural engineering design, as required to provide an additional canopy design, added shear walls at the western
face of the existing Location #1 building, and the added pile-supported generator pad at Location #2.
CIVIL
Scope Assumptions:
Site paving and the canopy areas for the new generator and fuel tanks are not greater than 5,000 SF,the followings
are the Civil scope would be needed:
Location 1: Site grading, pavement patching, and drainage for new fuel tank &canopy.
Location 2: Site grading, pavement patching, and drainage for new fuel tank&canopy.
2,000 SF of new and replacement impervious areas is the threshold for on-site stormwater management requirements,
which likely can be met or exempted (with helps from Owner) because of the existing site conditions. 5,000 SF is the
threshold for stormwater detention requirements.
ARCHITECTURAL
Scope Assumptions:
1. Architectural field investigation of existing building and site. Prepare architectural CAD base drawings of existing
conditions for use in design and contract documents.
2. Expand building 650 to house a new generator and day tank and Switchgear
a. Architectural design/detailing of wall and roof system in coordination with structural engineers
b.Design drawings, detailing and specifications for roofing, doors and hardware, louvers, and finishes.
3. Exterior design and detailing in coordination with structural engineers as required, compatible with existing
building.
4. Architectural preliminary design cost estimate.
