Our
exploration and testing program consisted of the following elements: I
► Visual surface reconnaissance of the site;
► Six borings (designated B-1 through B-6) with standard penetration tests (SPTs) advanced
at strategic locations across the site;
► Laboratory testing consisting of six grain-size distribution analyses, five minus-200 I
washes, and 15 moisture content determinations performed on selected soil samples; and
► A review of published geologic maps and seismic information in the vicinity of the site. I
Table 1 summarizes the approximate locations, surface elevations, and termination depths of the
subsurface explorations performed for this investigation. Figure 2 depicts the approximate locations of I
these explorations on the conceptual plans provided by ESD. Appendix A presents the detailed field
exploration procedures and logs, and Appendix B presents laboratory testing procedures and results. We estimated the relative location of each exploration by measuring from existing features
and scaling these measurements from old topographic surveys and construction plans provided to us
by the ESD. We then estimated their elevations by interpolating between contour lines shown on I
topographic surveys and construction plans. Consequently, the data listed in Table 1 and the
locations depicted on Figure 2 should be considered accurate only to the degree permitted by our
data sources and implied by our measuring methods. Once a campus-wide survey is completed by I
ESD, Amec Foster Wheeler can provide more definitive elevations.
Amec Foster Wheeler I
2 Project No.6-917-18116-0
1\\Sea-fs1\WordProc\ Projects\18000s\18116 Everett School District\Geotech Report\Revised\2017_10-19_Everett Middle School Geotech_Sx.docx
