I <br /> CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 8-02 ROADSIDE RESTORATION <br /> 8-02.1 Description <br /> Supplement 8-02.1 by adding the following: <br /> All plant materials required by the Contract Documents shall be Plant Selection Including <br /> Plant Establishment (PSIPE) per the Standard Specifications. <br /> 8-02.2 Materials <br /> Supplement 8-02.2 by adding the following to the list of materials: <br /> ' Soils 9-14.1(1) (Special Provisions) <br /> Seed 9-14.2 (Special Provisions) <br /> Bark or Wood Chip Mulch 9-14.4(3) Special Provisions) <br /> ' Compost 9-14.4(8) <br /> 8-02.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 8-02.3(1) Responsibility During Construction <br /> ' Supplement 8-02.3(1) by adding the following: <br /> No dumping or stockpiling of topsoil, compost or bark mulch on roadway surfaces <br /> will be allowed. <br /> 8-02.3(2) Work Plans <br /> 8-02.3(2)A Roadside Work Plan <br /> ' Supplement 8-02.3(2)A by adding the following: <br /> Submit to the City a Roadside Work Plan meeting the requirements of the <br /> Standard Specifications a minimum of 30 calendar days prior to commencing <br /> the installation of topsoil, compost, seeding, bark mulch or landscape materials. <br /> 8-02.3(4) Topsoil <br /> Revise the first paragraph of 8-02.3(4)to read as follows: <br /> Spread topsoil evenly over the specified areas to the depth shown in the Plans or <br /> as otherwise ordered by the Engineer. Prior to spreading topsoil cultivate existing <br /> soil to a depth of six inches or as specified in the Special Provisions or Plans. After <br /> spreading topsoil rake up, remove and dispose of all large clods, hard lumps, and <br /> rocks 1 inch in diameter and larger. <br /> Delete section 8-02.3(4)A in its entirety and substitute the following: <br /> 8-02.3(4)A Topsoil Type A— Imported <br /> Provide Topsoil Type A— Imported in accordance with the 9-14.1(2) of the Special <br /> Provisions. <br /> Delete section 8-02.3(4)C in its entirety and substitute the following: <br /> 8-02.3(4)C General Turf Area Soil <br /> Provide General Turf Area Topsoil in accordance with the 9-14.1(3) of the Special <br /> Provisions. <br /> 8-02.3(5) Planting Area Preparation <br /> Supplement 8-02.3(5) by adding the following: <br /> ' Amend soil in planting areas with four inches of Compost tilled six inches into the <br /> native soil. Lightly compact soil and establish a smooth and uniform finished grade <br /> that protects against obstruction to surface drainage. <br /> ' 8-02.3(8) Planting <br /> Supplement 8-02.3(8) by adding the following: <br /> Install plants at the same depth grown in nursery; top of rootball should be level with <br /> ground line.
