KRAZAN&ASSOCIATES,INC.
KA Project No. 092-20006
DRAFT Geotechnical Engineering Investigation
Everett Water Main"V"
May 7,2020
Page No. 5
sand with silt to a depth of about 4.5 feet below the ground surface. We interpreted the medium dense
1 brown sand to be weathered native soils. Underlying this material, the soil boring encountered medium
dense, brown to gray sand with silt to the depth explored of approximately 11.5 feet below the ground
surface. We interpreted this material to be recessional outwash.
Soil boring B-6 was located near 4414 Ridgemont Drive. The soil boring encountered about 3 inches of
asphalt pavement at the surface. Below the asphalt pavement, the soil boring encountered very loose,
brown sand with silt to a depth of about 4.5 feet below grade. We interpreted the very loose soils to be
undocumented fill. Below the fill material, the soil boring encountered loose, brown sand with silt to a
depth of about 7.0 feet below the ground surface. We interpreted this material to be weathered native
soils. Underlying weathered soils, the soil boring encountered medium dense, brown to gray sand with
silt to the depth explored of approximately 11.5 feet below the ground surface. We interpreted the
medium dense sand with silt to be recessional outwash?.
Soil boring B-7 was located near 912 Wetmore Avenue. The soil boring encountered about 4 inches of
asphalt pavement at the road surface. Underlying the asphalt pavement, the soil boring encountered
very loose, brown silty sand with gravel to a depth of about 4.5 feet below grade. We interpreted the
very loose soils to be undocumented fill. Below the fill material, the soil boring encountered medium
dense/very stiff, brown to gray, silty sand interbedded with silty clay to a depth of approximately 9.5
feet below the surface. We interpreted the medium dense/very stiff soils to be recessional outwash.
Underlying this material, the soil boring encountered dense, brown to gray, silty sand with clay to the
depth explored of approximately 11.5 feet below grade. We interpreted the dense soils to be glacial
Idrift.
Soil boring B-8 was located near 816 Wetmore Avenue. The soil boring encountered about 6 inches of
asphalt pavement at the ground surface. Underlying the asphalt pavement, the soil boring encountered
loose to medium dense, brown silty sand with trace gravel to a depth of about 1.5 feet below grade. We
interpreted this material to be undocumented fill. Below the fill material, the soil boring encountered
stiff to very stiff, gray to brown sandy silt to the depth explored of about 11.5 feet below the ground
surface. We interpreted the sandy silt to be recessional lacustrine deposits.
Soil boring B-9 was located near 716 Wetmore Avenue. The soil boring encountered about 5 inches of
asphalt pavement at the road surface. Underlying the asphalt pavement, the soil boring encountered
loose to medium dense, brown silty sand with gravel and cobbles to a depth of approximately 4.5 feet
below grade. We interpreted this material to be undocumented fill. Below the fill material, the soil
boring encountered medium dense, gray to brown silty sand with clay to a depth of about 7.0 feet below
the ground surface.
