• Legal descriptions
• Individual parcel access and easement drawings
• Right of way acquisition documentation
• Research public and private Records within project limits.
• Perform horizontal control field survey and tie to minimum two published NAD 83/98 City
monuments. Perform vertical control field survey based upon City published NAVD88
benchmark. Tie to controlling survey monuments in intersection vicinity to reproduce Right of
Ways.
• Perform full topographic survey of intersections, if required, including, but not limited to, all
improvements and road striping/channelization within the intersection, visible utilities and those
marked by "One Call" locate request, invert elevations of catch basins or manholes in the existing
curb lines (invert elevations of utilities lying further out in the intersections will not be measured),
street trees, landscaping planters sidewalks, curbs, utility poles, etc.
• Prepare a base map of topographic features and improvements located using AutoCAD Civil 3D
and provide a stamped and signed PDF and AutoCAD file for Engineers use.
The scope of survey and costs of this Task will be dependent on the results of Phase 1.
Task 2-4 — Geotechnical
Perform a geotechnical evaluation, as needed, to support the design in Tasks 2-2 and 2-3 Geotechnical
analysis is expected to be needed to support the design of any required retaining walls, roadway
construction if identified as necessary in phase 1, signal poles and illumination poles, and drainage
design, if infiltration is proposed in the final design. No bridge structures are anticipated in the scope of
the project. No geotechnical basis is anticipated for the design of sidewalk pavement section or asphalt
repair or widening pavement sections to meet curb lines. City of Everett standard details for pavement
and sidewalk design sections will be used for the basis of design. Geotechnical evaluation may be used
to assess the need for cultural resources assessment, described in Task 2-5.3
The scope of geotechnical investigation will be confirmed with the City prior to development of a scope
and fee proposal by the Consultant.
Geotechnical investigation will evaluate pertinent physical and engineering characteristics of the site soils
based on laboratory tests performed on samples obtained from the borings. Moisture content tests will be
completed on selected representative samples. Prepare a brief geotechnical engineering letter report that
describes the site conditions and foundation design considerations for new signal poles, drainage design,
and roadway construction if identified as necessary in phase 1.
Consultant Deliverables
• AutoCAD Civil 3D files
• Geotechnical engineering letter for each boring
Task 2-5 Design Documentation
The Consultant will document critical design decisions throughout the design engineering phase. As part
of this task, the Consultant will provide the documentation of design decisions, the basis of design, design
criteria used, including references to local, state and federal guidelines, and deviations from standard,
including justification and approval for deviations.
The design documentation will be provided as a technical memorandum and submitted to the City in PDF
format. The design documentation will be submitted at the 90% level. One round of comments will be
addressed and a final memorandum will be provided with the 100% design plans.
transpogroup 7
Page 12
