I <br /> 1 Existing Traffic Loops <br /> I 2 <br /> 3 The Contractor shall notify the Area Traffic Engineer through the Engineer a <br /> 4 minimum of five (5) working days in advance of pavement removal or grinding <br /> I 5 in areas with existing loops. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 If the Engineer suspects that damage to any loop, not identified in the Plans as <br /> I 8 being replaced, may have resulted from Contractor's operations or is not <br /> 9 operating adequately, the Engineer may order the Contractor to perform the field <br /> 10 tests specified in Section 8 20.3(14)D. The test results shall be recorded and <br /> 11 submitted to the Engineer. Loops that fail any of these tests shall be replaced. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Loops that fail the tests, as described above, and are replaced shall be installed <br /> I 14 in accordance with current City of Everett design standards and Standard <br /> 15 Drawings, as determined by the Engineer. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 If traffic signal loops that fail the tests, as described above, are not replaced and <br /> 18 operational within 5 working days, the Contractor shall install and maintain <br /> 19 interim video detection until the replacement loops are operational. The type of <br /> 20 interim video detection furnished shall be approved by the Engineer prior to <br /> I 21 installation. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 GLF 8-20.4.DOCX <br /> I 24 8-20.4 Measurement <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Section 8-20.4 is supplemented with the following: <br /> I 27 <br /> 28 (******) <br /> I 29 "Vehicle Loop Detectors", for both loop perimeter and home run, shall be measured by <br /> 30 the linear foot of the neat sawcut line in place in the roadway. No additional measurement <br /> 31 will be made for the installation of lead-in conduit and shall be included in the <br /> 32 measurement <br /> 33 <br /> 34 "Loop Detector Lead-In Cable" shall be measured by the linear foot of the neat line of <br /> 35 conduit between the controller cabinet and loop splice. No additional measurement will <br /> I 36 be made for coiled loop detector cable in junction boxes or cabinets. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 "Conduit Pipe 2 In. Diann." shall be measured by the linear foot of the neat line of conduit <br /> 39 between the junction box and the curb line.
