The structural drawings are printed on 36-inch x 48-inch sheets. The maximum sheet size for submittal drawings to the City of Everett is 30-inch x 42-inch sheets. Revised drawings not exceeding the maximum size shall be resubmitted. Note that the site plans have been prepared on 24-inch by 36-inch plans; we recommend resizing the drawings to match these plans for consistency. The IEBC provides three alternative methods for performing work: the Prescriptive Compliance Method (Section 301.1.1), the Work Area Method (301.1.2), and the Performance Compliance Method (301.1.3). The method selected for the project should be specified in the structural general notes. A statement should be provided clarifying the types of work that are included in the project (e.g., repairs, additions, change of occupancy, etc.) and referencing the appropriate IEBC sections. In order to proceed with the review, comments provided herein are based on the project complying with the Work Area Method of Chapter 5. Based on a review of the submittal documents, the proposed project appears to include the following work: Level 2 Alternations (Chapter 8) and Additions (Chapter 11). Additional and alternative types of work required for the project shall be identified by the designer-of-record. Additional comments may be pending. See IBC Section 301.1. 4. Structural and geotechnical special inspections are required for this project. A statement on special inspections shall be submitted with the permit documents. The statement shall include a table listing each type of special inspection and shall specify the extent of each inspection (e.g., continuous, periodic) per IBC Section 1704.3.1. The table shall include special requirements for seismic and wind resisting systems as required by IBC Sections 1704.3.2 and 1704.3.3, respectively.
