1 Each dwelling house, apartment, tenement or flat <br /> must have at least one water closet, one sink and <br /> 2 one bath for each family living in such dwelling <br /> house, apartment, tenement or flat; provided, that <br /> 3 if more than ten persons live in any such dwelling <br /> house, apartment, tenement or flat, there shall be <br /> 4 one additional water closet for each ten additional <br /> persons or fraction thereof. <br /> 5 <br /> Factories, shops, stores, restaurants, office build- <br /> 6 ings shall have at least one water closet for each <br /> twenty-four (24) persons or fraction thereof, of <br /> 7 each sex. Water closets for the different sexes <br /> must be entirely separate and plainly marked and <br /> 8 further, water closets must be located in an <br /> accessible and convenient place on the premises. <br /> 9 <br /> Schools, theaters, auditoriums, dormitories, ware- <br /> 10 houses, workshops, loft buildings, foundries, mills <br /> and similar establishments shall conform to the <br /> 11 minimum plumbing facilities requirement of Appendix <br /> "C" of this Code and each shall furnish separate <br /> 12 facilities for each sex. " <br /> 13 SECTION 20: That Chapter 10, Section 1004, of the Uniform <br /> Plumbing Code herein adopted, is hereby amended to read as <br /> 14 follows : <br /> 15 "Sec . 1004 -- Materials <br /> 16 (a) Water pipe and fittings shall be of brass, copper, <br /> cast iron, galvanized malleable iron, galvanized <br /> 17 wrought iron, galvanized steel or lead. Ferrous metal <br /> fittings shall not be used on copper water piping or <br /> 18 tubing. <br /> 19 (b) Cast iron fittings up to and including two (2) <br /> inches in size, when used in connection with potable <br /> 20 water piping shall be galvanized. <br /> 21 (c ) All malleable iron water fittings shall be <br /> galvanized. <br /> 22 <br /> (d) No pipe or tubing used for gas, oil, wastes or <br /> 23 similar purposes shall be used for water piping. Inside <br /> surfaces of water piping shall not be detrimental to <br /> 24 potable water. <br /> 25 SECTION 21: That Chapter 10, Section 1007, of the Uniform <br /> Plumbing Code herein adopted, is hereby amended to read as <br /> 26 follows : <br /> 27 "Sec . 1007 -- Water Pressure, Pressure Regulators <br /> and Relief Valves <br /> 28 <br /> (a) Inadequate Water Pressure. Whenever the water <br /> 29 pressure in the main or other source of supply will <br /> not provide a water pressure of at least fifteen (15) <br /> 30 pounds per square inch, after allowing for friction <br /> and other pressure losses, a tank and pump or other <br /> 31 means which will provide said fifteen (15) pound <br /> pressure shall be installed. <br /> 32 <br />
