• . <br /> 1 "Sec . 6O8 -- Appliances <br /> 2 Appliances, devices, equipment or other apparatus <br /> not regularly classed as plumbing fixtures, but which <br /> 3 are equipped with pumps, drips or drainage outlets, <br /> may be drained by indirect waste pipes discharging <br /> 4 into an approved type open receptor. A dishwashing <br /> machine may be directly connected to a drainage system. " <br /> 5 <br /> 6 SECTION 17: That Chapter 7, Section 702, of the Uniform <br /> Plumbing Code herein adopted is hereby amended to read as <br /> 7 follows : <br /> 8 "Sec . 702 -- Traps Protected by Vent Pipes <br /> 9 (a) Each plumbing fixture trap, except as otherwise <br /> provided in this code, shall be protected against <br /> 10 syphonage and back pressure, and air circulation <br /> assured throughout all parts of the drainage system, <br /> 11 by means of a vent pipe installed in accordance with <br /> the requirements of this code . <br /> 12 <br /> (b) Each fixture trap shall have a protecting vent <br /> 13 so located that the developed length of the trap arm <br /> from the trap weir to the inner edge of the vent <br /> 14 shall not be greater than twenty-four (24) inches . <br /> 15 (c ) A trap arm may change direction without the use <br /> of a cleanout when such change of direction is <br /> 16 accomplished by the use of not more than two (2) <br /> forty-five (45) degree fittings or one ( 1) ninety <br /> 17 (90) degree fitting of approved radius . <br /> 18 (a) The vent pipe opening from a soil or waste pipe, <br /> except for water closets and similar fixtures shall <br /> 19 not be below the weir of the trap. " <br /> 20 SECTION 18: That Chapter 8, Section 807, of the Uniform <br /> Plumbing Code herein adopted, is hereby amended to read as <br /> 21 follows : <br /> 22 ''Sec . 807 -- Waterproofing of Openings <br /> 23 Joints at the roof around pipes, ducts or other <br /> appurtenances shall be made watertight by the use of <br /> 24 lead or copper bootlet flashings either counterflashed <br /> or turned over top edge to insure a watertight joint. <br /> 25 In case of vent extension above flashing approved <br /> roofing mastic shall be used at top of flashing to <br /> 26 insure a watertight joint. Exterior wall openings <br /> shall be made watertight. " <br /> 27 <br /> 28 SECTION 19 : That Chapter 9, Section 910, of the Uniform <br /> Plumbing Code herein adopted, is hereby amended to read as <br /> 29 follows : <br /> 30 "Sec . 910 -- Plumbing Fixtures Required <br /> 31 Every building or separate part thereof, in which <br /> people congregate, live, sleep or work must have a <br /> 32 room or rooms containing one (1) or more water closets . <br />
