• <br /> 1 vent pipe set as near as possible to seal. Compartment <br /> No. 2 shall have a close fitting iron cover. The <br /> 2 masonry walls and floor of this catch basin shall be <br /> not less than six (6) inches thick, excepting that <br /> 3 where the catch basin rests on hard pan a four (4) <br /> inch floor may be used. The division wall between <br /> 4 Compartment No. 1 and No. 2 shall be not less than <br /> four (4) inches thick. Proper precaution shall be <br /> 5 taken to make the catch basin water tight. " <br /> 6 <br /> 7 SECTION 10: That there is hereby added to Part 2 of the <br /> Uniform Plumbing Code herein adopted a Sec . 2 .16 which shall <br /> 8 read as follows: <br /> 9 "Sec . 2 .16 -- Violation of Sec . 2 .15 - Penalty <br /> 10 Any person, firm, corporation or association of persons, <br /> violating or failing to comply with any of the pro- <br /> 11 visions of Sec . 2 .15 shall upon conviction thereof, be <br /> punished by a fine in a sum not to exceed $100.00 or <br /> 12 by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period not to <br /> exceed thirty (30) days, or by both such fine and <br /> 13 imprisonment . " <br /> 14 SECTION 11: That Chapter 2, Section 203, of the Uniform <br /> Plumbing Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 15 <br /> "Sec . 203 -- Use of Copper Tubing <br /> 16 <br /> (a) Copper tube or copper pipe shall not be used for <br /> 17 underground drainage and vent piping. <br /> 18 (b) Copper tube for above ground drainage and vent <br /> piping shall have a weight of not less than that of <br /> 19 copper drainage tube Type D.W.V. <br /> 20 (c) Copper tube for water piping shall have a weight <br /> of not less than that of copper water tube Type L. <br /> 21 <br /> (d) In addition to the required incised marking, all <br /> 22 copper tubing shall be marked by means of a continuous <br /> and indelibly colored stripe at least one quarter ( ) <br /> 23 inch in width as follows: <br /> Type K, green; Type L, blue; Type M, red; <br /> 24 Type DWV, yellow <br /> 25 (e) No copper tubing shall be used for gas piping. <br /> 26 (f) Ferrous metal fittings shall not be used on <br /> copper water piping. <br /> 27 <br /> SECTION 12: That Chapter 3, Section 310, of the Uniform <br /> 28 Plumbing Code herein adopted is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 29 "Sec . 310 -- Prohibited Fittings and Practices <br /> 30 (a) No double hub fitting, single or double tee <br /> branch, single or double tapped tee branch, side <br /> 31 inlet quarter bend, running thread, band or saddle <br /> shall be used as a drainage fitting. <br /> 32 <br />
