• <br /> 1 "Sec . 404 -- Fixture Connections (Drainage ) <br /> 2 (a) Drainage piping shall be provided with approved <br /> inlet fittings for fixture connections, correctly <br /> 3 located according to the size and type of fixture <br /> proposed to be connected. <br /> 4 <br /> (b) Two fixtures set back to back, within the <br /> 5 distance allowed between a trap and its vent, may <br /> be served by a single drainage pipe provided that <br /> 6 each fixture wastes separately into an approved <br /> double fitting having inlet openings at the same <br /> 7 level. <br /> 8 (c ) Two fixtures set side to side, except water <br /> closets, shall not be served by a single drainage <br /> 9 fitting having separate openings at the same level. <br /> Each such fixture may waste into a single drainage <br /> 10 fitting having a single opening into the same waste <br /> pipe at a different level and each fixture shall be <br /> 11 served by a separate vent. Vent pipes of such <br /> fixtures may combine above the critical level of the <br /> 12 higher fixture. " <br /> 13 SECTION 15: That Chapter 4, Section 405, of the Uniform <br /> Plumbing Code herein adopted is hereby amended to read as <br /> 14 follows : <br /> 15 "Sec . 405 -- Changes in Direction of Drainage Piping <br /> 16 (a) Changes in direction of drainage piping shall <br /> be made by the appropriate use of approved fittings <br /> 17 and shall be of the angles presented by a one-sixteenth <br /> (1/16) bend, one-eighth ( 1/8) bend, or one-sixth (1/6) <br /> 18 bend, or other approved fittings of equivalent sweep. <br /> 19 Horizontal to Vertical <br /> 20 (b) Horizontal drainage lines connecting with a <br /> vertical stack shall enter through forty-five (45) <br /> 21 degree "Y" branches, sixty (60) degree"Y" branches, <br /> combination "Y" and one-eighth (1/8) bend branches, <br /> 22 sanitary tee branches or other approved fittings of <br /> equivalent sweep. Tapped tees shall not be used in <br /> 23 the soil pipe or building drain. No fitting having <br /> more than one ( 1) branch at the same level shall be <br /> 24 used unless such fitting is constructed so that the <br /> discharge from any one (1) branch cannot readily enter <br /> 25 any other branch. Double sanitary tees may be used <br /> when barrel of the fitting is at least two (2) pipe <br /> 26 sizes larger than the largest branch. <br /> 27 (c ) Horizontal drainage lines connecting with <br /> other horizontal drainage lines shall enter through <br /> 28 forty-five (45) degree "Y" branches, combination "Y" <br /> and one-eighth(1/8) bend branches, or other approved <br /> 29 fittings of equivalent sweep. " <br /> 30 SECTION 16: That Chapter 6, Section 608, of the Uniform <br /> Plumbing Code herein adopted is hereby amended to read as <br /> 31 follows : <br /> 32 <br />
