The window conditions shall be reviewed <br />and safety glazing specified for the window as required. <br />21. Multiple rooms in the space have windows near the doors. See IBC Section 2406.4.2. The <br />following comments shall be addressed: <br />a. The windows in Offices 2, 4, and 5 are located within 24 inches of the vertical edge of the <br />doors. The drawings shall specify the windows to be safety glazing. <br />b. The windows in Office 3 and Classroom 2 are close to the doors. Dimensions shall be <br />provided verifying the distance between the doors and windows exceeds 24 inches, or the <br />drawings shall specify the windows to be safety glazing. <br />22. The Type A doors in the Door Schedule on Sheet 1-of-2 will include glass. See also the <br />(opv General Table Area Elevations. The doors shall be provided with safety glazing. See IBC <br />sul� Section 2406.4.1. <br />23. The Kitchen indicates the presence of a hood and stove. The following comments should be <br />addressed: <br />a. Requirements for commercial kitchen hoods are governed by IMC Section 507. The <br />expected hood installation (i.e., Type I or Type II) should be specified in the drawings. <br />General Note 4 on Sheet 1-of-2 states that "no deep frying or grease laden food" cooking <br />will occur. If a Type II hood is intended, additional documentation substantiating that the <br />proposed activity qualifies for use of a Type II hood shall be submitted for review. Note <br />that it is presumed the proposed activity will not qualify for use of a residential hood per <br />IMC Table 507.1.2. <br />b. The type of cooking appliance (e.g., medium duty, heavy duty, etc.) should be clarified. <br />The type shall be as indicated by the manufacturer's specifications on the appliance. <br />c. The requirements for grease ducts for commercial kitchens hoods are provided in IMC <br />Section 506. The requirements for the intended hood shall be specified in the drawings, <br />including but not limited to clearances. Note that the hood likely must be routed to the <br />exterior wall and run up the outside of the building. The proposed path for the duct should <br />be shown. <br />d. The tenant space is required to have a 1-hour separation from the remaining building. The <br />duct shall be provided with fire protection features where it penetrates rated assemblies. <br />See IBC Chapter 7. <br />T. <br />The Kitchen may require the installation of a grease trap. These documents have not been <br />reviewed for the treatment of oil or grease that may enter the City of Everett sewer system. <br />Vift ' Contact Inductrial Pretreatment at (425)257-8240 regarding pretreatment or grease removal <br />requirements. The drawings shall specify the requirement to install a grease trap if required. <br />See Everett Municipal Code Chapter 14.42. <br />�nn 25. The restrooms include more than one water closet. The Toilet Plans on Sheet 1-of-2 shall be <br />�rQQt� revised to specify floor drains. See UPC-15 Section 418.3(1). <br />&VOWiA <br />e <br />26. The bathrooms on Sheet 1-of-2 shall have ventilation per IMC Sections 403.3.1.1 and Table <br />'( 403.3.1.1. The construction drawings shall be revised to specify the required ventilation.
