•1 <br /> VDL f)tru 00. <br /> 2. Board. The Board of Adjustment, as established in <br /> Section 15.04.320. <br /> 3. Commission. The Planning Commission of the City of <br /> Everett. <br /> 4. Comprehensive Plan. Those coordinated plans in <br /> preparation or which have been prepared by the <br /> Planning Commission, for the physical development of <br /> the City, and adopted as policy by the Planning <br /> Commission. <br /> 5. Council. The Council of the City of Everett. <br /> B. SPECIFIC: <br /> 1. Accessory building or use. A use or structure cus- <br /> tomarily incidental to a permitted principal use or <br /> building and located on the same lot with such <br /> principal building. <br /> 2. Alley. A public or private way permanently reserved as <br /> secondary means of access to abutting property. <br /> 3. Apartment house. A building or portion of a building <br /> arranged or designed to be occupied by three or more <br /> families living independently of each other; same as <br /> a multiple-family dwelling. <br /> 4. Boarding, lodging or room:Its house. A building, other <br /> than a hotel, where meals and/or room or lodging are <br /> provided for compensation for three or more persons. <br /> 5. Building. Any structure built for the support, shelter <br /> or enclosure of persons, animals, mechanical devices <br /> or chattels, and, when separated by party walls lo- <br /> cated upon property lines, then each portion of such <br /> structure shall be deemed a separate building. <br /> 6. Building, Enclosed. A building enclosed on all sides <br /> with wall and roof and having no openings other than <br /> closeable, glazed windows and doors and vents. <br /> 7. Building, Principal. A building which is the primary <br /> use of the lot upon which the building is located. <br /> 8. Business or commerce. Business or commerce means the <br /> purchase, sale or other transaction involving the <br /> handling or disposition of any article, service, sub- <br /> stance or commodity for livelihood or profit; or the <br /> management of office buildings, offices, recreational <br /> or amusement enterprises; or the maintenance and use <br /> of offices, structures and premises by professions and <br /> trades rendering services. <br /> 9. Carport. A covered shelter for an automobile open on <br /> two or more sides. <br /> 10. Clinic. A building or portion of a building containing <br /> offices for providing medical, dental or psychiatric <br /> services and the sale of medical and dental supplies <br /> only. <br /> 11. Conversion. The change of the use of land or building04.21C <br /> to another use; however, the provisions of Section <br /> apply only to conversions for residential purposes. <br /> 12. Dwelling unit. A building, or portion thereof, pro- <br /> viJing complete housekeeping facilities for one family. <br /> 13. Dwelling, Sinle-family. A detached building designed <br /> for and occupied by one family only. <br /> 14. Dwelling, Two-family. A detached building designed for <br /> and occupied by two families living independently of <br /> each other, and containing two dwelling units. Same <br /> as a duplex. <br />
