Figure 2 - Wetland A, facing east.
Wetland B
Cowardin classification: Palustrine, Forested, Broad-leaved deciduous, Saturated
HGM Rating classification: Slope
City of Everett/Ecology classification: Category III (18 points, habitat score = 6)
Standard Buffer: 150 feet
Wetland B is a slope wetland per the HGM classification system (Brinson 1993). Wetland B is
873 square feet in size and is located in the northern portion of the site. Wetland B receives
hydrology from precipitation and groundwater and drains to Stream A.
Vegetation within the wetland includes maintained lawn grasses, Sitka willow (Salix sitchensis;
FACW), red alder (Alnus rubra; FAC), Himalayan blackberry (Rubus armeniacus; FAC), red -osier
dogwood (Comus sericea; FACW), reed canarygrass (Phalaris arundinacea; FAC), and creeping
buttercup (Ranunculus repens; FAC). Vegetation in the area mapped as Wetland B rates FAC or
wetter, indicating that a hydrophytic plant community is present.
Soils in Wetland B are very dark brown (10YR 2/2) with a silt loam texture in the upper 4 inches
and contain 5 percent dark brown (7.5YR 3/4) redoximorphic concentrations in the matrix.
From 4 to 7 inches depth, soils are dark grayish brown (IOYR 4/2) with a silt loam texture and
contain 1 percent dark brown (7.5YR 3/4) redoximorphic features. From 7 to at least 18 inches
depth soils are very dark brown (IOYR 2/2) with a clay loam texture and contain 5 percent dark
brown (7.5YR 3/4) redoximorphic concentrations in the matrix. This soil profile meets the
hydric soil indicator Redox Dark Surface (F6).
At the time of the site visit on June 6, the wetland was saturated to 3 inches depth. Therefore,
Wetland B meets primary hydrology indicator Saturation (A3).
APV Ventures LLC—Dakota Way 6 Critical Area Report' Buffer Mitigation
WRI #20015 Plan & Habitat Assessment
April 27, 2020
