The seismic shear forces shall be calculated even when wind <br />controls the lateral design. See IBC Sections 1604.10, 1613.1, and 1901.2. <br />Miscellaneous: <br />24. Building Section 1/SK-1 appears to show the construction of the deck guards. The following <br />comments shall be addressed: <br />a. The construction of the guard and connection to the deck framing does not appear <br />consistent with the details on Sheet A08. The design shall be revised for consistency. See <br />IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 1603.1. <br />b. Calculations shall be submitted for review substantiating the design of the guards, <br />connections to the deck, and deck framing supporting the guards. See IBC Sections 1604.1, <br />1604.4, and 1607.8.1. <br />This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and <br />amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made <br />during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit <br />requirements.
