City of Everett,Washington I Reservoir 3 Structural Improvements PDB Project <br /> Progressive Design-Build Contract I Exhibit C.Phase 1 Scope of Services <br /> • Identify plans and methods to protect drinking water stored in the reservoir from <br /> contamination during reservoir access and testing, consistent with the Owner's <br /> Project Criteria (Exhibit B). <br /> • Identify plans and methods to protect the reservoir liner from damage during <br /> exploration and testing, consistent with the Owner's Project Criteria (Exhibit B). <br /> Field Investigations (Project Conditions and Geotechnical): <br /> The Design-Builder shall conduct the following field investigations: <br /> • Perform all necessary field investigations required to verify exterior and interior <br /> conditions at Reservoir 3 and the valve vault, to support development of the Design- <br /> Builder's improvement concepts, repair methods, materials selection, ventilation <br /> improvements, valve vault improvements, seismic evaluation, construction access, <br /> and design documents. <br /> • Perform follow-up investigations during design development (prior to GMP) as <br /> needed to verify conditions and locations. <br /> • Geotechnical investigations required in order to support design of improvements to <br /> the reservoir cover, including: <br /> o Survey/monitoring data review. <br /> o Field observation of crawl spaces at each corner of reservoir. <br /> o Investigation of reservoir cover drainage flowpaths. <br /> o Determination of the presence of cement-treated base. <br /> o Mapping investigation findings. <br /> The findings of the geotechnical investigation will be included in the project <br /> Geotechnical Evaluation Report. In addition to the above findings, the report shall <br /> also include: <br /> o Site-specific seismic hazard response spectra for hazard levels identified in <br /> Owner's Project Criteria (Exhibit B) or as required by Structural Engineer. <br /> o Evaluation of seismic slope stability of the site. <br /> o Evaluation of liquefaction potential in fill soils on-site. <br /> o Recommendations for any foundation improvements, fill placement, ground <br /> improvements, soil compaction, etc. that may be required to accomplish the <br /> project objectives. <br /> 0 <br /> Geotechnical work under this task shall be performed by a geotechnical engineer licensed in the <br /> State of Washington. <br /> Field investigations of the Reservoir 3 interior are anticipated to be conducted by boat, with the <br /> reservoir online. <br /> Page 5 of 15 <br />
