Ms. Courtney Crosby •
Plan Check Number: B2004-017, Second Structural Review
August 5, 2020
In order for the processing of your application to continue, the following documentation shall be
submitted to Permit Services for review:
a. Itemized letter addressing the comments provided below.
b. Two complete sets of revised construction drawings.
c. Two copies of supplemental structural calculations.
Submittal documents should contain sufficient information and detail to review the proposed project
for compliance with the building codes. Upon submittal of the revised documents, your application
will be given priority and the review will recommence.
Structural
General:
2. This comment has not been completely addressed. The submitted documents include drawings
that appear to be prepared by both the applicant and an engineer. Separated the documents.
The large documents are the Construction Documents, there is a folder with the Structural
Documents and another folder for this cover letter. The documentation provided by the
engineer should be clearly separated into construction drawings and structural calculations.
The documents intended to specify the required construction for the proposed project should be
assembled together into a coordinated set of construction drawings, including cross-references
when appropriate. Each document was provided
Original Comment: The submittal includes a single document comprising both the structural
calculations and construction drawings. A separate document containing the construction
drawings should be submitted for review. See IBC Section 107.1 and 107.2.1.
3. This comment has not been completely addressed. It appears that the submittal documents
include a brief document of standard notes created by the engineer. The notes do not include
all of the requested information. The majority of the information in the notes does not appear
applicable to this project. Note that the completeness of the notes cannot be determined at
this time due to deficiencies in the submitted drawing (see other review comment below).
Original Comment: The construction drawings should specify design loads and other information
pertinent to the structural design per IBC Section 1603.1. Geotechnical information, including
but not limited to the design soil bearing pressure, should be specified per IBC Section
1603.1.6. Design criteria pertinent to the design of the structure (e.g., live and dead loads,
seismic and wind loads, etc.) should be specified. All of this was specified in the structural
notes. I_have called out each page in the structural section for you.
4. This comment has not been completely addressed. See Comment 3 above for additional
information. This comment was addressed in the drawings. Every nail, fastener and building
material was provided on the construction drawings with comments on the sides outlining each
piece. You will see this addressed individually as this is stated a few times in other areas
below.
1(r- 3200 Cedar Street everetteps@everettwa.gov
:
Everett, WA 98201 - 42S.2S7.8810 425.257.8857 fax • everettwa.gov/permits
Page 2 of-7
