The <br /> Utility Department will determine the date and time to make each tap. <br /> Expose the main being tapped, including properly shoring the excavation in accordance with <br /> requirements of WISHA, RCW 49.17 including WAC 296-155. <br /> Where shown on the Plans, adjust existing valve boxes and covers to the grade as staked <br /> or otherwise designated by the Engineer. Using riser rings to adjust the valve box to grade <br /> is not allowed. <br /> Conduct removal operations conducted to prevent damage to the valve boxes. Replace <br /> parts or materials damaged due to the Contractor's operations at his expense. <br /> Conduct valve box adjustments so the final adjusted valve box allows full operation of the <br /> valve. The <br /> Standard Plan references for underground utility structures including frames, rings, castings, <br /> an associated items are intended to provide interior geometry and intent only.
