CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> Bid Item 8 - Select Borrow, Including Haul <br /> Measurement and Payment: Ton (TON) <br /> ' Measurements shall meet the requirements of 1-09.2. The unit price per ton for all costs <br /> associated with testing and submittals required prior to delivery to the Project, furnishing, <br /> preparation, placing, and compacting imported pipe backfill to the line, grade, and pipeline cross <br /> section neat limits as shown on the Plans or COE standard details. This bid item will only be paid <br /> when suitable materials under Bid Item "Clean Fill and Native Exc. Backfill and Compaction, Incl. <br /> Haul" is not available from other parts of the job. The Contract bid item quantity listed for this item <br /> is to provide a common Proposal for Bidders. In accordance with Section 1-04.6, no cost <br /> adjustments will be made for any variation in the bid item quantities. <br /> ' Bid Item 9 - Gravel Backfill for Pipe Zone Bedding, Incl. Haul <br /> Measurement and Payment: Ton (TON) <br /> Measurements shall meet the requirements of 1-09.2. Unit price per ton for testing and submittals <br /> required prior to delivery to the Project, furnishing and compacting imported pipe backfill and <br /> bedding material to the line, grade, and pipeline cross section neat limits as shown on the Plans <br /> or COE standard details. <br /> Bid Item 10 - Remove Unsuitable Pipe Foundation Material <br /> Measurement and Payment: Cubic Yard (CY) <br /> Unit price per cubic yard for pipe foundation excavation that is below of the pipe excavation limits <br /> shown on the Plan sections, at the Engineer's direction. This bid item includes all costs associated <br /> with preparation, excavation, haul, and stockpiling including: <br /> 1. Excavation below the defined pipe trench foundation to the line and depth as directed by <br /> the Engineer. <br /> 2. The project is located within managed cleanup sites. This work includes cooperation with <br /> the City provided Environmental Monitor and work necessary to facilitate soil and <br /> groundwater monitoring, provide required dust management and control measures and to <br /> comply with the POE-NT Soil and Groundwater Management Plans, environmental <br /> regulations, and in accordance with the project HASP. Copies of the POE-NT referenced <br /> documents are provided in Appendix A <br /> 3. Haul to the temporary stockpile site at the PGSF Parking Lot. <br /> 4. Temporary stockpiling the excavated material including: <br /> a. Preparation and submittal of a stockpiling plan. <br /> b. Clearing and preparation of the stockpile area <br /> c. Grading the stockpile site, including grading and channeling as needed to <br /> prevent stormwater from flowing into or draining from the stockpile(s). <br /> d. Covering and protection of the stockpiles from wind or water transport. <br /> e. Clean up stockpile floor area after the stockpile is removed. <br /> 5. Screening and processing to separate and stockpile inert debris including bricks, concrete, <br /> woody debris and deleterious materials, abandoned pipe material, existing asphalt or <br /> ' concrete pavement, sidewalk, curb, thrust blocks, miscellaneous landscaping, and sod as <br /> indicated on the Plans or as described in the specifications and in conformance with the <br /> POE-NT Soil and Groundwater management Plans, Geotechnical Reports, and state and <br /> local regulations. <br /> POE Combined Sewer Main Imp.
