The General Structural Notes on Sheet <br /> S2.4 should be revised to list work being performed by approved fabricators. Work not being <br /> performed by approved fabricators should be added to the list of special inspections. See IBC <br /> Sections 1704.2.5, 1704.2.5.1, and Section 1704.5 Items 1 and 2. Special inspection notes <br /> regarding steel fabricators have been added to the General Structural Notes. <br /> 3. The extent of the Deck Framing Plan on Sheet S2.4 does not appear consistent with the Roof <br /> Plan on Sheet A-6. The areas are approximately 384 SF versus 460 SF, respectively. The Roof <br /> Plan deck extends south of the Penthouse. The design should be revised. See IBC Section <br /> 107.2.1.The deck framing plan has been removed from both the structural and <br /> architectural drawings in the latest revisions for the project. <br /> Foundation System: <br /> 4. General Structural Note 18 on Sheet S1.1 appears to indicate a geotechnical report was <br /> prepared for the project. The report should be submitted for review. See IBC Section. No <br /> geotechnical report is available for the project. Note 18 on S1.1 has been updated. <br /> Gravity System: <br /> 5. The Roof Framing Plan on Sheet S2.4 appears to include the substantial addition of new <br /> framing. The intent of the work should be clarified. Additional comments may be pending. <br /> See IBC Section 107.2.1.The original intent was to stiffen the roof to exceed code <br /> requirements, but this work was removed from the project. Only framing required at <br /> existing openings,and where roof deflections exceed code requirements remain.A <br /> plan note has been added on S2.4 to address this. <br /> 6. The project appears to include the addition of mechanical units on the roof. The Roof Framing <br /> Plan on Sheet S2.4 should indicate the approximate location, footprint, and weight of the units. <br /> The design values considered in the structural calculations should be provided when the actual <br /> values are not known. See IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 1603.1.8. Mechanical roof top units <br /> have been added to the roof plan with their corresponding weights. Roof <br /> calculations for these units have been provided in the supplemental package. <br /> 7. The project includes four car-stacking units at the Upper Floor Plan per Sheet S2.3. The <br /> following comments should be addressed: <br /> a. The weight of this units should be stated in the drawings. The design values considered in <br /> the structural calculations should be provided when the actual values are not known. See <br /> IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 1603.1.8. Design loads for lift capacity and weight have <br /> been added to S2.3.These values are also found in the original submitted <br /> structural calculations. <br /> b. The project includes four car-stacking units at the Upper Floor Plan per Sheet 52.3. The <br /> plan appears to indicate pairs of columns at some but not all corners of the stacking <br /> systems.
