Port Gardner Storage Facility Scope of Work 1-06-22
• Preparation of notes from meetings and site visits, review and organize information from site
visit including photos, record drawing notes, etc.
Task Assumptions
• BC will develop the demolition design in four phases,Alternatives Analysis, Basis of Design,
Final Design, and Bid Documents & Procurement.
Everett Responsibilities
• Participate in site visits and workshops
Meetings
• Two site visits to verify field conditions.Assume 10 BC staff conduct two site visits each for 8
hours per visit.
• Demolition phase workshops
o Demolition Alternatives Analysis review
o Demolition Basis of Design review
o Demolition Final Design review
o Demolition Bid Package review
Work Products
• PowerPoint presentations for each workshop
• Brief meeting agendas and notes for workshops
Phase 210 - Data Collection
Objective: Coordinate geotechnical investigation, surveying, buried pipe, and structural/process
mechanical condition inspections necessary to support facility demolition and design.
Activities/Approach: Phase 210 includes performing and managing geotechnical, survey, and the
condition assessment of buried yard piping, and final structural and process mechanical condition
assessments needed to inform Demolition Alternatives Analysis(Phase 220)and the Demolition
Basis of Design (Phase 230). Specific tasks carried out under this phase include the following:
• Perform and manage geotechnical subconsultant services in support of the design of the
PGSF.The geotechnical investigation will inform demolition of existing infrastructure and
construction of new facilities (effluent pump station, stormwater treatment, etc.). Specific
geotechnical tasks include the following:
o Review existing geotechnical reports and data for the project area,
o Investigate site ground water conditions
o Advance geotechnical borings canvasing the site with emphasis on new facility
locations.
o Explore and classify the subsurface soil conditions within the boundaries of the
Kimberly-Clark WWTP property.
o Develop geotechnical engineering recommendations for design and construction of the
Port Gardner Storage Facility including:
• Construction dewatering,
• Temporary excavation support
• Foundation bearing strengths
• Groundwater elevations and uplift potential/resistance
7
