Port Gardner Storage Facility Scope of Work 1-06-22 <br /> Site Design <br /> The site design phases will focus on the necessary activities to initiate design and subsequent <br /> construction of the PGSF as described by the PGSF Alternatives Analysis and Engineering Report. <br /> This work will include alternatives analysis, basis of design and preliminary design. The Consultant <br /> will host workshops during the site design phase to review evaluations, designs, and decisions made <br /> throughout the course of this work. Following preliminary design, intermediate and final design <br /> phases will be scoped in accordance with the project definition available from the site BODR and <br /> preliminary design phases. <br /> Phase 300 - Design Management <br /> Objective:The objective of this phase is to manage and direct the design process so that the <br /> products of the design effort are contract documents suitable for construction and reflect the City <br /> standards and preferences. The design process will be managed to provide complete, coordinated, <br /> and consistent designs between facilities and disciplines. <br /> Activities/Approach:The Design Manager will lead this effort and will actively lead the design process <br /> through regular meetings with the design team.This phase will also support the coordination of the <br /> project design with the City through monthly workshops. Design standards and workflows for <br /> BIM/CAD, drawing production, and specification production will be developed in this phase. <br /> A project issues log sorted by facility area will be maintained by the Design Manager to manage <br /> identification of design issues and their resolution. <br /> This phase includes the following activities: <br /> General Design Management <br /> • Check on the design team progress and communicate results to project management. <br /> • Verify QMP is followed, reviewers concur with work products, and maintain documentation of <br /> QA/QC reviews, responses, and resolutions. <br /> • Maintain ongoing communications with the subconsultants and monitor subconsultant <br /> progress related to the technical execution of the design. <br /> • Conduct internal design team coordination meetings. <br /> • Manage internal resources to maintain project schedule and achieve contracted milestones. <br /> • Identify scope changes that impact the project budget and schedule. Notify the Project <br /> Manager of potential changes in scope and assist in documenting those changes. <br /> • Regularly assess progress and earned value and maintain risk register. <br /> • Guide design activities to maximize project progress. <br /> • Coordinate progress reviews by the City, including collecting comments from the City's <br /> review, distributing review comments to facility and discipline leads,facilitating responses to <br /> review comments, documenting responses to the City's review comments, addressing any <br /> subsequent issues resulting from the City's review and addressing any subsequent issues <br /> resulting from the response to the City's review comments. <br /> • Establish equipment numbering system. <br /> • Maintain equipment list. <br /> Workshops <br /> • Conduct monthly workshops covering scheduled topics (see Meetings). <br /> • Technical content of workshops will come from efforts in alternatives analysis, basis of <br /> 15 <br />
