FIELD EXPLORATIONS AND LABORATORY TESTING •
Field Explorations
GeoEngineers evaluated the subsurface conditions at the site by completing four borings(B-1 through B-4)
to 561 feet below existing site grades and 21 CPTs(CPT-1 through CPT-21)to depths ranging between 23
and 651 feet below existing site grades. CPTs were advanced to practical refusal. The locations of the
explorations are shown in Figure 2. The boring logs and CPT plots are presented in Appendix A, Field
Explorations.
Laboratory Testing
Soil samples were obtained during drilling and were taken to GeoEngineers' laboratory for further
evaluation. Selected samples were tested for the determination of grain-size distribution (sieve analysis)
fines content, moisture content and Atterberg limits. A description of the laboratory testing and the test
results are presented in Appendix B, Laboratory Testing.
PREVIOUS SITE EVALUATIONS
We reviewed the logs of selected explorations from previous site evaluations in the project vicinity. The logs
of explorations from previous projects referenced for this study are presented in Appendix C, Boring Logs
from Previous Studies. The approximate locations of these explorations are shown in Figure 2.
SITE CONDITIONS •
GeoEngineers evaluated site conditions including the surface conditions, subsurface soil conditions, and
groundwater conditions.
Surface Conditions
The two sites are bounded by Port Gardner Way (13th Street) to the north, West Marine View Drive to the
east, and Seiner Drive to the west and south. The site consists of six parcels at the Everett Waterfront
(Parcel Nos.A3,A4,A5,A9,A10,and A13)and occupies approximately 5.1 acres. Existing site grades slope
down gently to the north from approximate Elevation 18 to 16 feet.
Surface conditions generally consist of crushed rock base course on the parcels south of 14th Street.
The parcels north of 14th Street generally consist of existing concrete slab-on-grade and shallow foundation
elements(former Port of Everett Marina Boat Yard)and crushed rock base course in the western portion.
Numerous buried utilities are shown in the site survey on the site and within the public right-of-way along
West Marine View Drive and Port Gardner Way(13th Street). These utilities include, but are not limited to,
gas,electricity,sanitary sewer,storm drain,fiber optic,telecommunications,and water.Overhead power is
also present in the southern portion of the site where one of the proposed buildings is planned.
GEOENGINEERQ May 31,2017 Page2
File No.22360-003-00
