Calculations substantiating the design of the structure to support the elevator loads <br /> concurrently with other loads should be submitted for review. The calculations should <br /> include the evaluation of deflection limits per IBC Section 1607.9.1. The design shall <br /> consider concurrent multi-directional loading as determined by the elevator manufacturer. <br /> See IBC Sections 1604.2 and 1605. <br /> g. The elevator shafts extend through four stories of wood-framed structure. Calculations <br /> substantiating that shrinkage of the structure will not adversely affect the performance of <br /> the elevator should be submitted for review. The elevator rails should be evaluated for <br /> induced axial loads or provided with connections that allow for vertical differential <br /> movement. See IBC Section 2304.3.3. <br /> This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and <br /> amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made <br /> during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit <br /> requirements.
