Removal of Unsuitable Material. <br /> Measurement will only be made for materials removed at a depth of 6 <br /> inches or greater below the invert elevation of a pipe or bottom of required <br /> pipe bedding (whichever is deeper), or 6 inches below the compacted <br /> aggregate base for structures indicated on the drawings. The quantities of <br /> authorized unsuitable material excavation paid for by the City shall be <br /> computed from in-place, field measurements and estimates made by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> The unit Contract Price per cubic yard (CY) for "Removal of Unsuitable <br /> Material" shall constitute full compensation for all costs of the Work, labor, <br /> materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary to remove <br /> unsuitable foundation material within excavations for new storm or water <br /> utilities and structures. The unit contract price includes excavating, <br /> loading, hauling, temporary stockpiling, and properly disposing off site of <br /> unsuitable material from the trench bottom. For the purpose of <br /> establishing a common basis for evaluating bids, an arbitrary quantity has <br /> been shown on the bid form and does not necessarily represent the <br /> quantity, if any, of"Removal of Unsuitable Material" that may be <br /> necessary for project work. Actual quantities will be determined in the <br /> field as work progresses. Removal of unsuitable material work will only be <br /> conducted with approval from the Engineer. <br /> Furnishing imported replacement backfill material, Foundation Material <br /> Class A or B, from a Contractor-supplied source will be paid for under the <br /> associated aggregate bid item in the Proposal/Construction Contract. <br /> Item 9 - SPECIFICATION 01 22 20, MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT, Page 9, <br /> Section 1.11.D. <br /> Bid Item 12 in Section 01 22 20 1.11.D is REPLACED with the following: <br /> Bid Item 12.
