Paragraph 3.03.A indicates the Verification Test is to performed in Tension <br /> and Compression. Compression tests necessitate the installation of reaction <br /> piles and add cost. A tension test alone is normally sufficient to confirm the <br /> design and installation. <br /> RESPONSE: THE VERIFICATION AND PROOF TESTING CAN BE <br /> REDUCED TO TENSION ONLY REQUIREMENTS. SEE MODIFICATIONS <br /> 111 TO SPECIFICATION 31 61 00. <br /> ■ Q2. Paragraph 3.03.B-indicates the verification test pile is to be sacrificial. With <br /> only 6 production piles, often times the verification testing is performed on <br /> production piles. <br /> RESPONSE: BECAUSE OF THE LIMITED NUMBER OF PRODUCTION <br /> PILES AND THE CONSTRAINED LAYOUT, A SACRIFICIAL PILE SHALL <br /> STILL BE REQUIRED. <br /> ' Q3. Paragraph 3.03.B & I-both paragraphs talk about test locations near the <br /> digester. I don't see a digester on the drawings. <br /> RESPONSE: SEE MODIFICATIONS TO SPECIFICATION 31 61 00. <br /> Q4. Confirm that all proof tests are in tension. <br /> RESPONSE: SEE THE RESPONSE TO Q1 ABOVE. <br /> Q5. Sheets S11 and S14—Are there 3 battered piles and 3 vertical? Or are all the <br /> piles battered? <br /> RESPONSE:ALL SIX PILES ARE BATTERED. <br /> Q6. Are 48" radius 90-degree bends required for all underground conduits, or are <br /> ' they only require 2.4KV circuits? <br /> RESPONSE: THE 48"RADIUS IS ONLY REQUIRED FOR 2300V CIRCUITS <br /> AND WITHIN THE CONCRETE-ENCASED DUCTBANKS. STANDARD <br /> RADIUS BENDS MAY BE USED EVERYWHERE ELSE, INCLUDING THE <br /> BENDS UNDER THE FLOOR SLAB OF THE NEW ELECTRICAL <br /> BUILDING. <br /> Q7.
