shall not be cut adrift nor abandoned without capping at the property <br /> line or as directed by the Inspector of Sewers and Plumbing. <br /> All sewer ditches must be open full length from the main <br /> sewer to the connection with the house or premises to be connected <br /> before calling for inspection, and must be left uncovered until in- <br /> spected, provided if the enforcement of the above rule interferes with <br /> traffic on the street, such sewer or lateral shall be installed in <br /> such manner as the Inspector of Sewers & Plumbing shall determine. <br /> All cement used in laying sewers must be mixed in proportion of not <br /> less than 2 of fine sand and 1 of good cement and all joints must be <br /> properly cemented. All persons laying sewers must clean all of the <br /> cement out of the sewers with a swab. Whenever a combined sewer is <br /> available, all downspouts shall be connected to that sewer in a <br /> manner approved by the City Engineer or his duly authorized representa- <br /> tives. Not more than one building shall be connected to a side sewer, <br /> except by permission of the City Engineer. In all cases where there <br /> are houses on separate lots, they must be connected separately to <br /> the main sewer, whether such lots are owned by the same person or by <br /> different persons. If two houses are situated on the same lot, one <br /> connection to the main sewer may be permitted if approved by the City <br /> Engineer. <br /> Any one single family residence shall be connected with not <br /> less than 4" diameter pipe from the property line to the building or <br /> premises to be connected and any multiple dwelling, industrial or <br /> commercial building or group of two single family residences shall be <br /> connected from the property line to the building or premises with not <br /> less than 6" diameter pipe. <br /> All vaults or privies shall be disinfected and filled with <br /> fresh earth and all septic tanks, cesspools and similar installations <br /> shall be disinfected and filled with fresh earth at the time of the <br /> 11 <br />
