t r • + <br /> Assistant Fire Marshal; two Fire & Police Signal <br /> Technicians; one Chief Fire Alarm Operator; <br /> three Fire Alarm Operators; forty First Class <br /> Firemen; two Second Class Firemen. <br /> It shall be the duty of such officers and assistants in <br /> said department to perform the duties indicated by the name of <br /> their employment, and such other duties as the Chief of the Fire <br /> Department or Commissioner of Safety may authorize and direct. <br /> It shall also be the duty of every Fire Department employee of <br /> any rank to operate the signal room as directed by the Chief of <br /> the Fire Department or Commissioner of Safety. <br /> Section 16: FIRE HYDRANT DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be the following named employee in the Fire <br /> Hydrant Department, to-wit: <br /> One Hydrant Repairman <br /> It shall be the duty of such employee to perform the <br /> duties indicated by the name of his employment and such other <br /> duties as the Chief of the Fire Department or Commissioner of <br /> Safety may authorize and direct. <br /> Section 17: STREET PAINTING DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be the following named employees in the Street <br /> Painting Department, to-wit: <br /> One street painter and one or more Day Laborers <br /> (part time ) <br /> It shall be the duty of such employees to perform the <br /> duties indicated by the name of their employment and such other <br /> duties as the Commissioner of Safety and the Chief of Police <br /> shall, from time to time, authorize and direct. <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> Section 18: CITY ENGINEER DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be the following named officers, deputies, <br /> assistants and employees in the office of the City Engineer, <br /> to-wit: <br /> One City Engineer; one Associate Engineer; one <br /> Assistant Engineer; six Junior Engineers; one <br /> Senior Engineering Aide; three Engineering Aides; <br /> one Stenographer; one or more Inspectors (part time) . <br /> Said officers, assistants and employees shall perform such <br /> duties indicated by the name of their respective employment and <br /> such other duties as the City Engineer shall, from time to time, <br /> authorize and direct. <br /> Section 19 : INSPECTION DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be the following named officers and employees <br /> in the Inspection Department, to-wit: <br /> One Building Inspector; one Electrical Inspector; <br /> one Plumbing Inspector; one Office Helper (part time) . <br /> It shall be the duty of such officers and employees to <br /> perform the duties relating to such offices as defined by the <br /> ordinances of such city, and such other duties as the Commissioner <br /> of Public Works shall authorize and direct. <br /> -4- <br />
