Council. The Council of the City of Everett. <br /> B. SPECIFIC: <br /> 1. Accessory building or use. A use or structure customarily incidental to <br /> a permitted principal use or building and located on the sane lot with <br /> such principal building. <br /> 2. Alley,. A public or private way permanently reserved as secondary means of <br /> access to abutting property. <br /> 3. Apartrlcnt house. A building or portion of a building arranged or designed <br /> to be occupied by three or more families living independently of each <br /> other; sane as a multiple-family dwelling. <br /> 4. Boarding, lodging or rooming house. A building, other than a hotel, where <br /> meals and/or room or lodging are provided for compensation for three or <br /> more persons. <br /> 5. Building. Any structure built for the support, shelter or enclosure of <br /> persons, animals, mechanical devices or chattels, and, when separated by <br /> party walls located upon property lines, then each portion of such struc- <br /> ture shall be deemed a separate building. <br /> 6. Building, Enclosed. A building enclosed on all sides with wall and roof <br /> and having no openings other than closeable, glazed windows and doors and <br /> vents. <br /> 7. Building, Principal. A building which is the primary use of the lot upon <br /> which the building is located. <br /> S. Business or commerce. Business or commerce moans the purchase, sale or <br /> other transaction involving the handling or disposition of any article, <br /> service, substance or comodity for livelihood or profit; or the management <br /> of office buildings, offices, recreational or amusement enterprises; or <br /> the maintenance and use of offices, structures and promises by professions <br /> and trades rendering services. <br /> 9. Carport. A covered shelter for an automobile open on two or more sides. <br /> 10. Clinic. 1. building or portion of a building containing offices for provid- <br /> ing medical, dental or psychiatric services and . <br /> j xg 1 x the sale of medical and dental supplies only. <br /> 11. Conversion. The change of the use of land or building to another use; <br /> however, the provisons of Section 18-B apply only to conversions for resi- <br /> dential purposes. <br /> 12. Dwelling unit. A building, or portion thereof, providing complete house- <br /> keeping facilities for one family. <br /> 13. Dwelling, Single-family. A detached building designed for and occupied by <br /> 1 one family only. <br /> 14. Dwelling, Two-fanily. A detached building designed for and occupied by <br /> two families living indcpendtly of each other, and containing two dwelling <br /> units. Sane as a duplex. <br /> 15. Dwelling, Yiltiple-family. Sec Apartment House. <br /> 16. Duplex. See Dwolling', Two-£artily. <br /> 17. Family. Ono or more persons occupying a dwelling unit and living as a <br /> single, non-profit housekeeping unit. <br /> 18. G�roc, Private. An accessory building, designed or used for the shelter <br /> or storage of vehicles owned or operated by the occupants of the principal <br /> building. <br />
