no such opening, vent or duct shall be required when the room or <br /> space containing such meters has a floor area of more than 2000 <br /> square feet. No liquified petroleum gas meter or tank shall be <br /> located in any basement or cellar. <br /> Any gas service entering any building underground with- <br /> out first rising above ground, shall pass through a vented pit or <br /> encasement directly adjacent to the building or vented by means of <br /> a curb box. <br /> A gas line entering a building through a concrete wall <br /> or concrete foundation, or underground, shall be encased in an <br /> outer jacket of not less than standard black steel pipe from a <br /> point not less than four (4) inches outside the building foundation <br /> line to a point not less than two (2) inches above the floor line <br /> at point of egress and shall be welded gas tight at each end. <br /> No meter shall be placed in any location where it will be <br /> exposed to injury. Location, dimensions and type of installation <br /> shall be designated by the Gas Company. <br /> Where gas meters are installed above ground at the house, <br /> each consumer's service line shall be provided by the gas company <br /> with a suitable stop or curb cock located in an accessible place, <br /> and at the inlet of the meter. <br /> Where an underground meter is used, each consumer' s house <br /> line shall be provided with a suitable stop cock (still cock) at <br /> a point above ground where the gas line enters the building. <br /> Where more than one meter is supplied through one service <br /> line a stop cock shall be installed at each meter inlet in addition <br /> to the service line stop. <br /> The size of house piping not otherwise provided for in <br /> this section shall be approved by the inspector and satisfactory <br /> to the gas oompany. <br /> SECTION 17 - PIPE SPECIFICATIONS <br /> 1. All pipe used for the installation, extension, altera- <br /> tion or repair of any house gas piping shall be of standard weight <br /> and standard dimension black wrought iron or black steel pipe, and <br /> such pipe shall either be new or shall have previously been used <br /> -�3- <br />
