be in writing and shall set forth the term of the appointment and <br /> recite that it is made pursuant to this ordinance. At the time of <br /> the appointment, the Chief shall deliver to the appointee a metal <br /> badge in the form of a five pointed star, bearing the words 'Police, <br /> City of Everett", and with a number to be assigned by the Chief. <br /> The Chief of Police shall hold all deposits for badges in a trust <br /> fund, from the proceeds of which he shall from time to time as <br /> needed, purchase Special Policeman badges, and from which he shall, <br /> whenever a badge is returned to him in good condition, repay the <br /> appointee the sum of Five Dollars ( 5.00). <br /> Section 5: Appointments as Special Policeman shall be of no <br /> force or effect-- <br /> (a) Upon and after conviction of the appointee of any <br /> ( felony or offense involving moral turpitude; <br /> F (b) The cessation of the performance of actual police <br /> service by the appointee; <br /> (c) Upon and after revocation of appointment by the <br /> Chief of Police for failure to abide by the require- <br /> ments of the City Charter or this ordinance, the <br /> failure to perform faithfully the duties of his <br /> employment, or for any cause deemed sufficient by <br /> the Chief of Police in his discretion; <br /> (d) After the expiration of one year from the date of <br /> the appointment or any renewal thereof. <br /> The Chief of Police shall in writing notify the Special Police- <br /> man of the voiding or invalidating of his appointment, but his <br /> failure to so notify the appointee, or of the appointee to receive <br /> the notification shall have no effect on the voiding or invalidating <br /> { of the appointment. <br /> Any appointment about to expire by reason of lapse of time may <br /> be renewed by the Chief of Police; provided, that the appointee <br /> shall make application therefor to the Chief prior to such expira- <br /> tion and upon showing to the satisfaction of the Chief that the <br /> appointee is and will be actually engaged in Special Police Service <br /> in the City and that he has performed his duties as a Special <br /> Policeman satisfactorily. <br /> Section 6: Every Special Policeman shall-- <br /> , <br /> (a) At all times keep the Chief of Police accurately <br /> advised in writing of his business and home address <br /> and telephone number, if any, and of the boundaries <br /> {{; of the district which he is patrolling; <br /> (b) At all times while on ctuty, wear the Special Police <br /> badge herein provided for and no other; <br /> (c) Carry on his person at all times while on duty, a <br /> list of the places patrolled by him together with <br /> the addresses, telephone numbers and names of the <br /> owners thereof, or names of persons to be notified <br /> in case of fire, illegal entry, etc. <br /> Section 7: Any person appointed as a Special Policeman under <br /> the provisions of this ordinance may, at his election, wear a <br /> uniform upon receiving the consent and approval of the Chief of <br /> Police thereto, but no uniform so worn shall be so similar to any <br /> uniform worn by a regular policeman as to be confusing or mislead- <br /> ing, and no uniform shall be worn by any Special Policeman except <br />
