<br /> 2. Please provide egress calculations and paths of egress for all occupancies in the
<br /> building. Two means of egress are required for the residential and commercial
<br /> occupancies where the occupant load calculated by floor area and occupancy/use,
<br /> exceeds the values in IBC table 1015.1, or common path of travel is exceeded, per IBC
<br /> table 1014.3.
<br /> 3. The elevator cab interior clear dimensions should be shown on the drawings, to include
<br /> dimensions for the Fire Department stretcher, and the star of life signage, per IBC
<br /> section 3002.4, as amended by EMC 16.01 M.
<br /> 4. Emergency signs for the elevators should be shown on the drawings, per IBC section
<br /> 3002.3.
<br /> 5. Egress and emergency lighting should be shown on the drawings, per IBC sections
<br /> 1006.3, 1011.1, and Table 1015.1.
<br /> a. A discernible path of egress should be shown with illuminated exit signs on the
<br /> drawings, per IBC section 1011.1, where two exits are required.
<br /> b. Emergency lighting should be shown on the drawings, per IBC section 1006.1,
<br /> where two exits are required, to include exterior exits.
<br /> 6. Please indicate corridor smoke detectors per IBC section 907.2.8.2, room smoke
<br /> detectors on the reflected ceiling plans, per IBC section 907.2.11.1.
<br /> 7. If carbon monoxide alarms or a detection system is required, please locate the detectors
<br /> on the plans, per IBC section 908.7 and 908.7.1.
<br /> 8. Stair and floor number signage should be shown on the plans, per IBC 1022.9.
<br /> 9. Please identify the egress path from the stairwells to show the path to the public way,
<br /> per IBC sections 1027.1 and 1027.5.
<br /> 10. Please detail and reference new corridor walls as a one hour fire resistance tested
<br /> assembly, with a sound STC rating of 50 or more, per IBC sections 1018.1 and 1207.1.
<br /> 11. Raised character and Braille exit signs should be shown on the drawings, per IBC section
<br /> 1011.4.
<br /> Construction
<br /> 1. Please identify and detail the typical fire rated penetrations.
<br /> 2. Please submit tested assembly construction to maintain one hour fire barriers at new
<br /> bearing walls, posts, beams, joists, columns, and other supporting structural elements.
<br /> a. The drawings should include tested assemblies for new wall, floor ceiling, and
<br /> roof ceiling assemblies, to include sound insulation testing requirements of 50 or
<br /> more between residential floors and walls, for airborne or structural borne
<br /> sounds, per IBC Section 1207.
<br /> b. Please include UL design tested assemblies on the drawings, as referenced from
<br /> sheet LS1.1.
<br /> 3. New doors should be identified in a door schedule, indicating size, rating, hardware,
<br /> elevation view, and materials.
<br /> a. New doors in the path of egress should indicate hardware that is operable
<br /> without tight grasping, pinching or twisting of the wrist, per IBC section
<br /> 1008.1.9.1.
<br /> 4. Please identify the primary and secondary roof drainage systems on the new elevator
<br /> machine room roof, per UPC sections 1101.11.1 and 1101.11.2.
<br /> 5. Steel construction will require one hour enclosure, within the wall where rated walls or
<br /> floors are provided. The one-hour tested assemblies should be shown in detail on the
<br /> architectural drawings where the steel is shown as exposed on the structural drawings.
<br /> 6. Please detail the guard required at the penthouse.level, per IFC section 1104.6.
