The new stair runs at the first floor, mezzanine, penthouse roof and basement should be <br /> identified on the drawings and detailed for rise, run, handrails, guards (if applicable), <br /> materials, and shown in elevation, section and plan graphically different than existing <br /> stair runs, with a legend if the graphic method differs from commonly accepted graphic <br /> standards. Please refer to IBC section 1009 for code requirements. <br /> 8. Construction sections are required at all new shafts, penthouse construction, stairs, <br /> elevators, lifts, and mezzanines, indicating floor heights, overall building height, and <br /> stair riser calculations at all new stairs. <br /> 9. Details of the construction of the new penthouse roof should be shown on the drawings, <br /> including a rated assembly if applicable. <br /> 10. Please detail the elevator hoistway venting, per IBC sections 3004.1. <br /> Accessibility <br /> 1. The new residential unit shown on B1606-075 should be included in permit B1606-032 <br /> drawings, and be identified as a Type A or B unit as required by IBC section 1107.6.2. <br /> 2. Altered elements of existing elevators, to include signage, should be shown on the <br /> drawings to indicate compliance with IBC section 3411.8.2. <br /> 3. Where stairs are being added where none existed prior, please indicate compliance with <br /> IBC section 3411.8.4 on the drawings. <br /> Deferred Mechanical Permit Applications <br /> 1. Separate drawings and a permit application is required for mechanical plan review. <br /> 2. Please submit all residential units concurrently on the mechanical submittal, and submit <br /> the restaurant Type I hood requirements as a separate mechanical permit application <br /> with plans, sections and elevations. <br /> All codes cited refer to the 2012 International Building Code (IBC), the 2012 International Fire <br /> Code (IFC), the 2012 International Mechanical Code (IMC), and the 2012 Washington State <br /> Energy Code (WSEC), as amended by the State of Washington and adopted by the City of <br /> Everett.
