chapter 207, Laws of 1947, of the 'state of Washington, are hereby <br /> adopted and made a part of this ordinance as if set forth in full <br /> herein. Three copies of the foregoing statutes are on file in the <br /> office of the city clerk and shall remain on file in such office for <br /> use and examination by the public. Every violation of the foregoing <br /> statutes within the limits of the City of Everett shall be a violation <br /> of this ordinance. <br /> Section 42: HEADLAMPS. Every motor vehicle other than <br /> a motorcycle shall be equipped with no more nor less than two (2) <br /> headlamps with one on each side of the front of the motor vehicles, <br /> which headlamps shall comply with the requirements and limitations <br /> set forth in the washing,ton £.rotor Vehicle Act. <br /> Every motorcycle shall be equipped with at least one (1) <br /> ana not more than two (2) headlamps which shall comply with the <br /> requirements and limitations of said act. <br /> Section 43: MISCELLANEOUS VLhIGLES - LIGHT REQ,UIREJiENTS. <br /> All vehicles, including animal-drawn vehicles and others not <br /> specifically required by the Washington _hotor Vehicle Act to be <br /> equipped with lamps, shall, during hours of darkness, be equipped <br /> with at least one ll) lighted lamp or lantern exhibiting a white <br /> light visible from‘a distance of five hundred (500) feet to the front <br /> and sides of such vehicle, and with a lamp or lantern exhibiting <br /> a red light visible from a distance of five hundred (500) feet to <br /> the rear. <br /> Section 44: USE OF HEADLAMPS. At all times during hours <br /> of darkness , at Last two (2) lighted headlamps shall be displayed, <br /> one on each side at the front of every motor vehicle, and one lighted <br /> rea rear lamp, except when such vehicle is parked subject to the <br /> regulations governing lights on parked vehicles. Whenever a motor <br /> vehicle equipped with headlamps as required herein, is also equippid. <br /> with any other lamp on th.e front thereof, not more than a total of <br /> four (4) of any such lamps on the front of a vehicle shall be lighted <br /> at any one time when upon a public highway, except that such <br /> limitation shall not exclude cowl or fender lamps or any lamps re- <br /> quired by law, <br /> Section 45: RED OR G EENv AND FLASHING LIGHT PROHIBITED - <br /> EXCEPTION. No person shall drive or move any vehicle or equipment <br /> with any lamp or device thereon displaying a red light visible from <br /> directly in front thereof. This section shall not apply to author- <br /> ized emergency vehicles or vehicles of the department of highways of <br /> the State of Washington which present a danger by the nature of their <br /> necessary operation. <br /> Automatically flashing lights or intermittent lights are <br /> prohibited on motor vehicles, except as a rear signal lamp for indi- <br /> cating intention to stop or turn to the right or left, and when, as <br /> and if approved by the estate commission on Equipment. <br /> Section 46: INSPECTION- OF 1,10To"R VEHICLES. All vehicles <br /> shall be equipped and inspected as provided in the Washingtonotor <br /> Vehicle Act and the rules and regulations made by the Director of <br /> highways of the 'tate of yashington in pursuance thereof. <br /> Section 47: UNLAWFUL To OPERATE DAMAGED Oh DEFECTIVE <br /> VElICLES. - IaPOUNDITG.
