(8) CENTER OF INTERSECTION: The point of intersection of the denter lines of the roadway- of intersecting public highways. (9) CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT: The following streets or portions of streets in the City of Everett shall be designated as the central business district: Commencing at the intersection of the East line of Broadway and the South line of Pacific Avenue, thence North on the East line of Broadway to the Nort4 line of Everett Avenue, thence West on the North line of Everett Avenue to the East line of Colby Avenue, thence North on the East line of Colby Avenue to the North line of 25th Street, thence west on the North line of 25th Street to the west line of Colby Avenue, thence South on the west line of Colby Avenue to the North line of Everett Avenue, thence West on the north line of Everett Avenue to the west line of £tucker Avenue, thence South on the West line of Hucker Avenue to the North line of California Street, thence :west on the North line of California Street to the west line of Grand Avenue, thence South on the West line of Grand Avenue to the North line of Hewitt Avenue, thence West on the North line of Hewitt Avenue to the West line of Federal Street, thence Southwesterly along the West line of Bond Street to the South line of Wall street extending Westerly, thence East on the South line of wall Street to the East line of Bond Street, thence Northeasterly along the East line of Bond Street to the intersection of Federal Street and the South line of Hewitt Avenue, thence East along the South line of Hewitt Avenue to the West line of Grand Avenue, thence South on the West line of Grand Avenue to the South line of Pacific Avenue, thence East along the Sout4 line of Pacific Avenue to the East line of Broadway Avenue, the true point of beginning. (10) CITY STREET: All or any portion of the public highway and other places in the City of Everett open to the public for travel, with the exception of alleys. (11) COMBINATIOv OF VEHICJ hS: Every combination of motor vehicle and trailer or motor vehicle and semi-trailer, the principal use of which is the transportation of commodities, merchandise, produce, freight or animals. (12) COlvi:IERCIAL VEHICA ;: Any vehicle, the principal use of which is the transportation of commodities, merchandise, produce, freight, animals or passengers, for hire. (13) CROSS,.ALK: The portion of the roadway between the intersection area and the prolongation or connection of the farthest sidewalk line, or, in the event there are no sidewalks, then between the intersection area and a ten (10) feet therefrom, except as modified by a marked crosswalk. (14) FARM TRACTOR: Every motor vehicle, as herein defined, designed and used primarily as a farm implement for drawing plows, mowing machines, and other implements of husbandry. (15) FOR HIRE VEHICLE: Any motor vehicle, as herein defined, used for the transportation of persons for compensation. -2-
