{ <br /> trl <br /> • <br /> ii <br /> (b) No person shall move a vehicle not owned by such <br /> person into any such prohibited area or away from a curb such a <br /> di s t„nc e as is unlawfu. <br /> Section 52: SVIETROD 0 +' PARKING. <br /> $; <br /> (a) No person shall stand or park a vehicle in a road- <br /> way other than parallel with the edge of the roadway, headed in the <br /> direction of traffic, ana with the curb side wheels of the vehicle <br /> within twelve (12) inches of the edge of the roadway, except as pro- <br /> vided in the followinu sub-sections. <br /> (b) Upon those streets which have been marked or signed <br /> for angle parking, vehicles shall be parked at the angle to the curb <br /> ;; indicated by such marks or signs. (Angle parking shall not be per- <br /> mitted upon the streets of the city of Everett designated as forming <br /> a part of the route of a primary state highway through said city of <br /> Everett. <br /> (c) In places where and at hours when stopping for the <br /> ` loading or unloading of merchandise or materials is permitted, vehicles <br /> used for the transportation of merchandise or materials may back into <br /> the curb to take on or discharge loads when necessary for the <br /> expeditious loading or unloading of such merchandise or materials, <br /> provided such privilege will not seriously interfere with traffic or <br /> violate other sections of this ordinance. <br /> Section 53: TRUCKS NUT TO ANGLE PARK. 0n portions of <br /> ithe street where angle parking is allowed it shall be unlawful to <br /> angle park a vehicle the length of which exceeds eighteen (18) feet <br /> over all, except while actually loading or unloading. <br /> Section 54: PARKING WhILE LOADING AND UNLOADING. <br /> (a) PASSENGER VEHICT.RS. Passenger vehicles used for <br /> aihauling commodities shall, when loading or unloading such commodities,; <br /> be stopped or parked parallel or at the angle established for parking <br /> ' in that area and shall not be backed to the curb. <br /> (b) COMMERCIAL VEiIC T;S. Except when actually engaged <br /> in loading or unloading some commodity, no commercial vehicle shall <br /> ; stand backed to the curb at any time. Ail loading and unloading <br /> shall be continuous and shall be completed as rapidly as possible. <br /> No vehicle shall be backed against or parked at the curb or street <br /> ; line at any place within a business district so that the foremost <br /> part of such vehicle extends out into the street to a point nearer <br /> than eight (8) feet from the center of the street, unless a permit for <br /> such parking has been obtained from the Chief of Police. <br /> Section 55: PARKING NOT TC OBSTRUCT TRAFFIC. Ao person <br /> [shall stop, stand, or park any venicle upon a street in such a <br /> manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than ten <br /> (10) feet of the width of the roadway for free movement of vehicula <br /> traffic, except that a driver may stop temporarily during the actual <br /> ; loading or unloading of passengers or when necessary in obedience to <br /> traffic regulations or traffic signs or signals or directions of a <br /> peace officer. <br /> Section 56: PARKING IN ALLEYS. When, under the pro- <br /> visions of this ordinance it shall be lawful to park in an alley, it <br /> shall be unlawful for any person to stop or park a vehicle in such <br /> -21- <br />
