The signals herein required shall be given either by <br /> means of the hand and arm or by a signal lamp or signal device of <br /> a type approved by the state commission on equipment, but when a <br /> vehicle is so constructed or loaded that a hand and arm signal <br /> would not be visible both to the front and rear of such vehicle then <br /> said signals must be given by such a lamp or device. All vehicles <br /> whose body or load extends or protrudes twenty-four (24) inches or <br /> more to the left of the steering post of the said vehicle shall be <br /> equipped with mechanical or electrical signal crevices capable of <br /> displaying such signals. All arm or mechanical signals herein pro- <br /> vided for shall be clearly visible and sufficiently definite in <br /> their execution to be seen and unmistakably understood at a distance <br /> of not less than two hundred (200) feet to the rear of such vehicle. <br /> Section 89: POSITION OF CAR WHEN 'UAKING RIGHT OR LEFT <br /> TURN. Any person driving any motor vehicle and desiring to make a <br /> turn to the right shall reasonably and prudently drive such vehicle <br /> as close as is practicable to the extreme right-hand edge of said <br /> roadway a reasonable distance before the point of making such turn. <br /> Any person driving any motor vehicle desiring to make a left-hand <br /> turn at any intersection shall reasonably and prudently drive such <br /> vehicle to the extreme left-hand side of that portion of the roadway <br /> lying to the right of the canter of such public highway a reasonable <br /> distance before making such left-hand turn. It shall be unlawful <br /> for any person to make or attempt to cake any right-hand or Left- <br /> hand turn until he shall have attained the proper relative driving <br /> position as aforesaid and in approaching street intersections <br /> vehicles desiring to make such turns thereat shall enter the proper <br /> traffic lane at least fifty (50) feet from beginning to turn. <br /> Section 90: TURNING LEFT AT INTERSECTION. Upon turning <br /> to the left at any intersection an operator shall be permitted to <br /> make a turn to the left without regard to the center of such inter- <br /> section: Provided, all wheels of the vehicle shall pass to the <br /> right of the intersection entrance markers located on the public <br /> highways from or to which such vehicle is entering or leaving such <br /> intersection and both such intersection entrance markers are within <br /> the arc circumscribed by such left turn. In the event no intersection <br /> center marker or intersection entrance markers are installed at an <br /> intersection, left turn may be made as though intersection entrance <br /> markers are installed as above set forth, and such turn made with <br /> reference to the points at such intersection where such intersection <br /> entrance markers would properly be located. <br /> Section 91: °UU TURNS PROHIBITED EXCEPT AT II,ITERSECTTIONS. <br /> It shall oe unlawful for any person operating any vehicle to drive <br /> the same across or turn so as to proceed in an opposite direction <br /> any point other than at a street intersection or street end. <br /> Section 92: i +'FT TURNS PROHIBITED EXCEPT AT INTERSECTIONS. <br /> No left-hand turn shall be made by the operator of any vehicle, from <br /> any public street, so as to enter any alley, driveway, building <br /> entrance, private wad or private property or to enter any public <br /> street from such alley, driveway, building entrance or private way. <br /> Section 93: RIGHT OF WAY AT INTERSECTIONS. It shall be <br /> the duty of every operator of any vehicle on approaching public <br /> highway intersections to look out for and give right of way to <br /> vehicles on their right, simultaneously approaching a given point <br /> within the intersection, and whether such vehicle first enter and <br /> reach the intersection or not: Provided, This section shall not <br /> apply to operators on arterial public highways. <br /> -31- <br />
