. <br /> Section_ 94: RIGHT OF WAY WHEN TURNING AT INTERSECTICh. <br /> It shall be the duty of any operator of any vehicle upon entering <br /> an intersection and having signalled his intention as required by <br /> law to turn such vehicle to the left to look out for and give right <br /> of way to vehicles approaching in the opposite direction and thereby <br /> placed on his right, simultaneously approaching the given point with- <br /> in the intersection, whether such vehicle first enter and reach the <br /> intersection or not: Provided, This section shall not apply to a <br /> vehicle making such a left turn when having entered and turning to <br /> proceed upon an arterial highway. <br /> Section 95: STOP WHEN ENTERING INTERSECTION WITH ARTERIAL <br /> HIGHWAYS. The operator of any vehicle shall stop as required by law <br /> at the entrance to any intersection with any arterial highway, and <br /> having stopped shall look out for and hive right of way to any <br /> vehicles upon such arterial highway simultaneously approaching a <br /> given point within the intersection, whether or not such vehicle <br /> first reach and enter the intersection. <br /> Section 96: VEHICLES ENTERING STREET TO Y_CELD RIGHT-OF- <br /> WAY. A driver already upon a street shall have the right of way <br /> over a driver entering at a point other than a street intersection, <br /> and it shall be the duty of such driver to yield the right of way <br /> to the driver already upon the street: Provided, That this section <br /> shall not apply to venicles or apparatus of the Fire and Police <br /> Lepartments. <br /> Section 97: LIh_ITATION ON BACKING. The driver of a <br /> vehicle shall not back the same into an intersection or over a cross- <br /> walk and shall not in any event or at any place back a vehicle, <br /> unless such movement can be made in safety. Wahine backing a vehicle, <br /> the operator thereof shall give the proper signal and shall look <br /> out for and yield the right of way to all other vehicles upon the <br /> streets, alleys and public mays. No ve _icle shall back into or out <br /> of an alley, except when the same is obstructed. <br /> Section 98: STOP ON ENTERING ARTERIALS. It shall be un- <br /> lawful for the operator of a vehicle to emerge from any alley, <br /> driveway, building exit, private way or private property or from <br /> off the roadway of any public highway, onto the roadway of any <br /> public highway or across a sidewalk or into the sidewalk area ex- <br /> tending across any such alley, driveway, building exit, private way <br /> or private property without bringing such vehicle to a full stop <br /> and yielding the right of way to all pedestrians upon such sidewalk <br /> and all vehicles upon such public highway. <br /> o driver shall enter any street at any point other than <br /> a street intersection at a rate of speed exceeding five (5) miles <br /> an hour. <br /> Section 99: VEHICLES NOT TO BE DRIVEN ON SIDEWALK OR <br /> PARKING STRIP. No person shall drive any vehicle on or across any <br /> curb, sidewalk, sidewalk area or parking strip except at a permanent <br /> or temporary driveway. For such temporary crossing the curb or <br /> sidewalk shall be covered with two-inch planks not less than eight <br /> feet in length and the outside edges of the sidewalk or curb shall <br /> be protected with planks or timbers, so as to prevent contact with <br /> the sicbwalk or curb. All such planks, timbers, and other obstructions <br /> shall be removed from the street, curb or sidewalk when and as soon <br /> as such crossing is not in actual use, and no planks or timbers <br /> or other obstructions shall be allowed to remain on the street, curb <br /> or sidewalk between the hours of sunset and sunrise. <br /> -32- <br />
