No driver <br /> shall enter an intersection or a marked crosswalk unless there is <br /> sufficient space on the other side of the intersection or crosswalk <br /> to accomodate the vehicle he is operating without obstructing the <br /> passage of other vehicles or pedestrians, notwithstanding any <br /> �l traffic control signal indication to proceed. <br /> Section 170: USE OF COASTERS, ROLLER S: ATES AND TOY <br /> VEHICLES. It shall be unlawful for any person upon roller skates, <br /> or riding in or by means of any coaster, toy vehicle or similar <br /> device, to go upon the roadway of any arterial highway or any street <br /> in the central business district, except while dossing such <br /> roadway at a crosswalk; or to engage in any sport, amusement or <br /> exercise or play in the roadway of any street. <br /> Section 171: CLINGING TO MOVIN T VEHICLE. It shall be <br /> unlawful for any person traveling upon any bicycle, motorcycle, <br /> coaster, sled, roller skates, or any toy vehicle, to cling to, or <br /> attach himself or his vehicle to any other moving vehicle for the <br /> purpose of being drawn by the same. <br /> Section 172: UNLAWFUL RIDING, BOARDING AND ALIGHTING FROM <br /> ANY MOVING CARS. It shall be unlawful to ride upon any portion <br /> of a vehicle not designed or intended for the use of passengers. <br /> This provision shall not apply to any employee engaged in the <br /> necessary discharge of duty or to riding within truck bodies in <br /> space intended for burden. <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to board or alight <br /> } from any moving vehicle. <br /> Section 173: USING VEHICLFT. WITHOUT PERMISSION OF OWNER. <br /> No person shall, without authority, drive away the vehicle of <br /> another or take or carry away any property in or attached to the <br /> vehicle of another from the place where left by the owner or <br /> person in charge thereof, or medole with, deface, mutilate, or <br /> ►! destroy the vehicle of another. <br /> Section 174: PERMITS FOR PAI ADE S. It shall be unlawful <br /> for any person or persons, society, association, or organization <br /> to parade upon any street, alley, avenue or other public place in <br /> the City of Everett, without first notifying the Chief of Police <br /> of the intent to do so and obtaining a permit so to do from said <br /> j Chief of Police. Such notification shall be made in writing and <br /> shall state the purpose of such parade, the place and hour of form- <br /> ation, the proposed line of march, and the name of the person or <br /> persons, society, association of organization having charge or <br /> control of said parade. Such notification shall be delivered to <br /> the Chief of Police at least twenty-four (24) hours before such <br /> parade is to take place: Provided, however, that this time <br /> limitation may be lessened or the notice entirely waived, in the <br /> discretion of the Chief of Police for any unexpected occasion, as <br /> the case of a parade of visitors arriving in the city within less <br /> than the above prescribed period preceding the desired hour of <br /> parade. The Chief of Police, may, in his discretion, direct such <br /> modification of the place of formation and of the line of march, and <br /> other details of any such parade, as public traffic and safety may <br /> require, and with the approval or any order of the Mayor may forbid <br /> or stop any such parade whenever deemed necessary for the <br /> preservation of the public peace. <br /> -52- <br />
