' ' <br /> * • <br /> 4 ' f <br /> 1 n <br /> { <br /> I <br /> 1 <br /> { Section 175: FLAG REQUIREMENTS AND REGULATIONS FOR <br /> I PARADE PURPOSES. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons <br /> to march in any parade upon any street, alley or avenue or other <br /> 1 public place in the City of Everett, unless there is carried <br /> unfurled at the head of such parade a flag of the United States of <br /> America not less than fifty-two (52) inches by sixty-six (66) <br /> finches; Provided, however, that this requirement shall not apply <br /> in the case of a parade by any military or naval force of a friendly, <br /> foreign nation, who, as visitors or guests, may be permitted to <br /> parade with their own national flag, colors or ensigns. <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to march <br /> in any parade upon any street, alley or avenue or other public place <br /> 1 in the City of Everett, carrying any flag or banner, except the <br /> flag, colors or ensigns of the United States of America, or any <br /> d of its military or naval organizations, including the national Guard, <br /> or the recognized flag or emblem of any friendly foreign nation <br /> it or country, unless such flag or banner bear some distinct name in <br /> letters clearly legible at a distance of one hundred (100) feet, <br /> or legend, design or insigna, clearly designating or descriptive <br /> of, or identifying it as the emblems of the persons, society, <br /> association or organization marching in such parade: Provided, <br /> I=. however, that this requirement shall not apply to any flag, banner, <br /> pennants or other devices used for purely decorative or spectacular <br /> effects in any parade having no direct or indirect political <br /> purposes or object. In no case shall any American flag be carried <br /> which shall bear any lettering, advertising or other defacement. <br /> The provisions of this section shall not apply to a <br /> religious or funeral procession: Provided, that in case any flag <br /> or banner be carried in such procession, it shall be the flag of <br /> the United States of America or that of some recognized patriotic, <br /> Ifraternal or secret society. <br /> �t Section 176: REGULATIONS GOVERNING TRAFFIC DURING <br /> ' PROCESSIONS AND PARADES. It shall be unlawful for any pedestrians, <br /> equestrian, driver or operator of a vehicle to pass through, or <br /> drive betwwen the vehicles comprising, or to interrupt, any regularly <br /> organized funeral procession, or any procession authorized by the <br /> Chief of Police as herein provided, or the passage of military <br /> or naval forces of the United States or of the National Guard of <br /> the State of Washington when accompanied by a military, naval or <br /> 1 civil police escort which directs traffic at all intersections <br /> ias used. This provision shall not apply to operation of emergency <br /> 1 vehicles, <br /> No person shall operate a motor vehicle in or as a part <br /> of a funeral procession unless such vehicle be marked or distinguished <br /> by illuminated headlights. <br /> No person shall leave any vehicle upon any street which is <br /> being used or has been cleared for parade purposes.
