The structural drawings include work that has been deferred by the engineer-of- <br /> record(EOR). A statement of deferred submittals is provided in the"General" <br /> section of the General Structural Notes on Sheet S0.0. The statement shall specify <br /> that the EOR is required to review the deferred submittals and verify conformance <br /> with the construction documents. See IBC Sections 107.2.1, 107.3.4, 107.3.4.1, <br /> and 107.4. The following shall be added to the list of deferred submittals: <br /> a. Temporary shoring. <br /> Response: Temporary restraints for the existing structure during the <br /> installation on connections per Detail 20/S.10 will be contractor's means and <br /> method. Contractor's engineer to ensure the stability of temporary shoring <br /> during constructions. The loads associated with this are minor and Reid <br /> Middleton does not expect to review temporary restraints. <br /> 4. The notes for the FRP System provided in the General Structural Notes on Sheet <br /> S0.0 appear to have been prepared for another project. For example,the "Design <br /> Strength"paragraph under the"Renovation" section states that FRP system shall be <br /> designed per the criteria in the"wall/beam elevations", which do not appear to be <br /> provided or required in this project. The notes should be reviewed and revised as <br /> needed. See IBC Section 107.2.1. <br /> Response: General notes have been updated. <br /> Gravity System: <br /> 5. Detail 19/S.10 specifies individual repairs for both the concrete columns and <br /> prestressed girder ends. It is unclear if the proposed work is repairing structural <br /> damage or is intended to prevent future damage. If the former, structural <br /> calculations substantiating the proposed repair shall be submitted for review. See <br /> IEBC Section 606.2.3 and IBC Section 1604.1. <br /> Response: Detail 19/S.10 is Detail 14/S.10 in the re-submittal drawings.
