Parks Department for approval. The Northwest <br /> Neighborhood Association will not begin work without City <br /> Parks Department approval. <br /> D. Adherence to OPTED (Crime Prevention Through <br /> Environmental Design) standards is required. <br /> E. The plant palette of the Native Plant Display Garden will be <br /> a mix of small deciduous trees, low to medium evergreen <br /> and deciduous shrubs, groundcover, perennials and <br /> grasses. The final plant palette must be pre-approved by <br /> the Parks Department. The Northwest Neighborhood <br /> Association will provide all plants and trees at its own <br /> expense. <br /> F. The Northwest Neighborhood Association shall be <br /> responsible at its own cost for the installation, <br /> establishment, maintenance and care of the Native Plant <br /> Display Garden. If the Northwest Neighborhood <br /> Association fails to do this, the City may remove the <br /> Native Plant Display Garden. The Northwest <br /> Neighborhood Association's responsibilities include: <br /> (1) Irrigation installation, monitoring and maintenance; <br /> (2) Installation and creation of the beds including <br /> removal and disposal of existing sod, amending <br /> soils, plant procurement and installation; <br /> (3) Maintenance, including weeding, seasonal pruning, <br /> mulching, of all planting beds within the Native Plant <br /> Display Garden; <br /> (4) Reporting of illegal activities to appropriate <br /> authorities; <br /> (5) Monitor, maintain, and remedy erosion damage that <br /> may occur within the Native Plant Display Garden; <br /> (6) Remove invasive plant species and replace with <br /> native species; <br /> (7) Project management including such things as <br /> organizing volunteer work, seeking funding for <br /> project completion, administering grants received by <br /> 2 <br />
