Permit research indicates that this structure is recognized a two story single family dwelling. 2. Several smoke alarms throughout the building were found to be not functional,or missing in areas required by code. IPMC section 704.2 3. Some bedrooms egress windows and a bathroom window were observed to be damaged and not operational as per IPMC section 702.4 and 304.13.2 4. A living room on the main floor that connects to a stairway between the two stories has been altered to include locking doors and a bed placed within the room. This alteration eliminates the only living room provided within the dwelling, and because of the locking hardware on the doors restricts access within the dwelling. The alteration activity is Unlawful as per IPMC section 108.1.4. 5. Damaged or missing electrical equipment was observed in several locations within the structure including: lights, outlets, electrical device trim covers,smoke alarms. IPMC section 605.1 requires electrical equipment and wiring be properly installed and maintained. The deficiencies observed within this building presents life safety hazards to the occupants. I fully support your efforts to abate the code violations and safety hazards at this property. 42..77.
