Extra depth, including excavation, backfill and compaction required to clear known <br /> buried utilities or other known obstacles. <br /> 11. Abandonment of existing watermains as shown on the Plans, including cutting, <br /> draining water and properly disposing, and plugging pipe at each end with a minimum <br /> of 2-feet of Commercial concrete or CDF. Include the concrete or CDF work with this <br /> work with no direct compensation being made. Abandon existing mains in place where <br /> possible. Include cost of removal, hauling, and disposal of existing main with these Bid <br /> items when abandoning in place is not possible. Include closing existing valves, and <br /> plugging where noted, to be abandoned and removing the lids and valve boxes. <br /> 12. Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen obstacles shall be paid for under the <br /> Force Account item. <br /> Bid Item 18 - Gate Valve, 6-Inch <br /> Bid Item 19 - Gate Valve, 8-Inch I <br /> Bid Item 20 - Gate Valve, 12-Inch <br /> Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Each (EA) I <br /> The unit contract price for Gate Valves, -Inch shall constitute full compensation for all <br /> labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary and incidental to furnish and install valves <br /> complete in place on the watermain, including but not limited to, dewatering; removal and <br /> disposal of existing curb and gutter, and sidewalk; excavation, removal, hauling, and <br /> disposal of excavated materials; furnishing, jointing, and installing valves and valve boxes <br /> with extensions if necessary; installing temporary concrete thrust blocks; restraint systems; <br /> painting; flushing and disinfecting; furnishing, installing, compacting, and testing bedding <br /> and backfill materials; constructing asphalt concrete pad around valve box if necessary; <br /> cleanup; and any additional work, materials, and equipment required to install the valves <br /> and assembly, except as included in other unit price bids. <br /> Bid Item 21 - Fire Hydrant <br /> Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Each (EA) I <br /> The unit price per each shall be full compensation for all work to furnish and install fire <br /> hydrant in accordance with Parts B, C, E, F, I, and J noted in COE Standard Drawing No. <br /> 507.
