B. Biofiltration Media: <br />1. Biofiltration media must consist of ceramic material. <br />2. Media must be produced to meet the requirements of ASTM C330, ASTM C331, and AASHTO <br />M195. <br />3. Aggregates must have a minimum 24-hour water absorption of 10.5% mass. <br />4. Media shall not contain any organic material. <br />5. The thickness of the media shall be at least 19" from influent end to effluent end. <br />6. Retention time in the media must be a minimum of three minutes. <br />7. The loading rate on the media shall not exceed 1.1 gallons per minute per square foot of <br />surface area. <br />8.
